Blue-ish gray Playstation 1 disc?

So I snagged a copy of Fox Hunt, which is a pretty obscure PS1 game and noticed that disc 3 was a blue-ish gray color. The first and second discs are normal, black discs. I don't mean foggy or resurfaced scuffing gray, or those blue discs used for some PS2 games.

The disc is clean, works perfectly fine, and I popped it into my PS3 and it started up fine. I don't have a game save or any passcodes so I have no idea if the disc goes beyond the start screen.

Here's a picture of the first and third discs:

But since it works, it's probably legit.

PS2 CDs have a deeper blue, but fell out of use when they started giving errors. Games that are too small to fit on a DVD are usually inflated with dummy data.

My Fox Hunt disc 3 is like that too.  I had read that the blue color was the result of a factory error.  As long as the disc art is correct and it boots up on an unmodified console, I'd say it's legit.

The label side of the disc looks perfectly legit, and is identical to the other two discs (besides the "disc #" part).

I was thinking that maybe it's an import disc and I'm not sure if the PS3 is region free regarding import PS1 games (I know PS3 games are region free), but I don't think it is.

The only other thing I can think of is that during production, the dye to turn the discs black ran out but that seems so improbable.

Really? Wow, glad to see I'm not the only one then but I'm wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing for it's collectability as most people would probably think it's a fake disc.

I saw pictures for a copy on eBay and all 3 discs were black so I figured all of them should be black.

To clarify, this isn't unique to Fox Hunt disc 3.  There are other legitimate blue disc PS1 games out there.  They're just not very common.

Interesting... I have roughly 100 PS1 games and probably went through another 100 in trades/upgrades, never ran across a disc like this. I was worried the disc was damaged or something, which would have sucked because there's no way to get it replaced since it's used and all.
