All Forums Now Open to Guests?

I just clicked on the Post Your Own Deals forum, expecting to be prompted for my login information, but I was immediately granted access to all of the deals. I thought that the two deals forums were supposed to be locked to guests unless they register with the site.
 
With them being open, google bots can index them. So if some one searches for a game, there is a chance the CAG will show up.
 
I used to think that too, but it's really six one way, half a dozen the other...people are just going to sign up and make a bunch of junk accounts and never post anyway, so what's the point?

Thats a good point Banky...I just dont like that anyone...could just pop in and see a deal and take the opportunity away from me and not be a member...I know it sounds kinda stupid but Id rather have a member than some person that just happened to see the site get a good deal...make sense?

It makes perfect sense, and I agree. It's just that it's been discussed, debated, and argued to death, and ultimately there's no perfect solution for it.
 
There is no hiding stuff from you guys...

I did that because I wanted people to easily get to the CompUSA list that Raikoh made. Frankly, we could use the commissions and I was too lazy to duplicate the list on the front page.

All will be back to normal tomorrow.

Think of it like a free one-day preview, like cable tv used to do.
