Given the huge number of Florida CAGs on this board now, it seems like a good time to start pooling our knowledge to make the most of our time (and gas!).

I'll get things started...I'll try to keep this updated as new info is posted. If you have any info on Florida stores that you'd like to share, please post it here!

Not sure if there are any other CAGs in Gainesville but the Best Buy on Archer Road is probably the worst BB in the state of FL. I bought Radiata Stories for $35, take it home and open it to find theres a mark on the disc and the instruction booklet has a tear in it. I've been trying to get it exchanged for a new copy now for 3 days and they're suppose to have more in stock tomorrow allegdly. Also, from personal experience, the EB at the Oaks Mall is a good place to shop.

The Best Buy in Waterford Lakes has to have the worst game section I've ever seen in a BB. Didnt even waste my time/gas when I heard about the BB deal this week.

Never been to Gainesville, but it sounds like the selection there isn't too great. Orlando is a great place to be a CAG, actually - tons of game stores within a short driving distance. At least 10 GameRush's within 50 miles of city center :)

Some Tallahassee deals (9/15)-

The Goodwill on Pensacola has complete (box & instructions) SNES games for $6
Pawn shop on Monrone (near Big Bend Area) has a Complete Mutant League Football for $5 (cover of instructions ripped off and not icluded)
EB in Tallahassee mall has a complete Grandia (PS1) in stock

Nothing special yet, Ill update post when I get to Tampa in a few week

Is Waterford Lakes a city? Or is this in Titusville?

The Gamestop at Oviedo Mall seems to have expanded their PC section, while the Gamestop at Waterford Lakes has the most pathetic PC section I've ever seen. EBGames at Oviedo had a ton of discount Xbox and N64 games, but I didn't have time to look through them to see if they had anything good. The Waterford Lakes Best Buy just plain sucks (you know this already though, if you live in Orlando).

Yeah my real home is down in Melbourne, but yeah Orlando is pretty damn nice. There's a Rhino here in town out by the Wal-Mart on Archer with the pimps and hos. No GameRush that I know of.
Is Waterford Lakes a city? Or is this in Titusville?
Waterford Lakes is a gigantic shopping center near UCF that's bigger than some malls. It's awesome. If you can't find a store you like in Waterford Lakes, I don't know what to tell you. I happen to be lucky enough to live five minutes tops from there (on campus at UCF).

I'm surprised to see a few Oviedo people. I lived there (in Stillwater) for a few years and went to Jackson Heights Middle School. They didn't have a mall at the time but I'm sure the town has expanded quite a bit.
Is Waterford Lakes a city? Or is this in Titusville?
Waterford Lakes is the big outdoor shopping complex near UCF in Orlando.

EDIT: Heh, seems my internet's getting worse. I'm also surprised by all the CAG's in the Orlando/UCF/Oviedo area. Seems Sanford's a good place to find deals, apparently, but I don't want to waste gas and toll money to drive for what will likely turn out to be impulse buys.
Is Waterford Lakes a city? Or is this in Titusville?
It's in Orlando on Alafaya trail in a shopping center (Waterford Lakes Shopping Center) it's South of UCF.

For you Tampa CAGs, the Target on Fletcher by the university will be expanding their game section. (My boyfriend works there as the MMB specialist)
Also the University Mall EB has Marvel vs Capcom 2 for PS2 for 55 Complete from what I saw. It was on the front counter display. I also saw Suikoden 3 there but didn't check the price.

I did the same thing. I knew they wouldn't have anything. And man, that store has to have the dumbest employees I've ever seen in my life. Whenever I buy stuff from there I try to get in and out as soon as possible. The Circuit City is somewhat better, IMO. But it's so far away from UCF (near downtown on Colonial).

Gamerush - Apopka (SR 436)
Decent selection, nice staff.

GameStop - Apopka (SR 441, next to Big Lots) and Altamonte Springs (SR 434)
Average sized GameStops, staff will hound you to buy used or pre-order.

EB Games - Altamonte Mall
Nice store, has a clearance rack near cashier where you can sometimes find good deals. You are also likely to be hounded to trade or buy used.

Super Target at Waterford Lakes - love the store, but never seen any game deals there
Gamerush at Alafaya and Colonial - pretty decent selection (good deals can be found there if you are a Blockbuster Online member); got Shenmue 2 today for $2

Interesting...I've never once found a good deal in any Altamonte store. I think it's cuz EA is so close by...a lot of hardcore gamers frequent the Altamonte stores regularly it seems like.

There is also a Rhino in the Oaks Mall in Gainesville (unless it closed since I was last there.. usually really friendly w/ a decent supply of used/new games.

The Rhino in Jacksonville, FL off of Southside Blvd. is also extremely cool. The guys there are really helpful and I had a good experience there when searching for Nintendogs Dachsund. All of the EBs in town were completely sold out of all versions and I walked into Rhino and they had 15+ copies of each version in stock.

Yeah it's closed down and moved either to the one I mentioned on Archer Road next to Walmart or its on NE something by the other one.

I've never even heard of a store named Rhino. I looked up the locations though and there's one by here on Colonial. Maybe I'll check it out sometime.

One of my good friend in Tampa shops there a lot. He always says good things about the employees there and he has gotten many a good deal on trade ins.

Rhino started in Gainesville and has now expanded to 50+ stores across Florida to Alabama. They were recently bought by Blockbuster, but remain very personable and customer oriented places to shop (in my experience).

Cool to see Florida people here. I'm actually from Tampa (Citrus Park and University Mall are both relatively close to me). Going to school at UCF so I'm currently in Orlando. For all those theme park enthusiasts out there, I've worked at both Busch Gardens and Islands of Adventure.

I know there are CAG's here in Orlando. Last year during that Circuit City sale there were a ton of people walking around with lists at the downtown location. Same thing when Best Buy had a clearance sale (not this time, but the last).
fucknut.
Haha, but seriously, I would post about what stores I use but the only thing that will happen is that all the lurkers and resellers here will just flock down upon the stores I use and my methods... I mean, if any true CAG's in Tampa want some info I'm always open for PM's.

yeah i agree, and the Best Buy farther down on Colonial is waaaay better than the Waterford Lakes, but still a long drive from Titusville. I havent been down that way in a while, I usually go to the Circuit City in Merritt Island, which has its share of dumb unhelpful employees.

One in Melbourne also suffers from lack of helpful employees, trying to purchase anything in there is a complete nightmare since no one mans the registers so you are usually forced to go to CS if you want to buy anything that isnt a plasma TV, etc.

I know that, for the most part, everyone hates Gamestop but i found the employees in the Waterford Lakes store to be very helpful and courteous, unlike the 'tards at the Eb in Merritt Square Mall - those guys are the worst.

Me: "I'd like to preorder Marvel Nemesis, does that come with any preorder bonus (knowing full well it came with the demo, while looking at it on the shelf behind the guy)." Employee: "No, sorry it doesnt."

didnt feel like arguing with the guy, just told myself to stay cool and leave.

Hmm, not sure of any good deals around the Tampa area.

Theres a pawn shop on the corner of Hillsborough & Nebraska that always has really good deals on games (in good condition).

Sad that the places with the best prices are always in the worst neighborhoods (especially anything around University mall, lmfao)

Additional instore benefits with BBO? Could you please tell more?

Hey, has anyone checked any of the Florida TRU stores lately? I went to several in Sanford/Orlando right when the 50% hit, but didn't find much. Wondering if it's worth the gas to go out once the 70% sale is in effect a week from Tuesday...

^ Are there any TRU's in the Orlando/UCF area? I've never seen one.

Anyways, the TRU I go to in Tampa (on Florida between 275 and Univer. Mall) usually has a pretty poor selection. Every once in a while they will bring out the bargain bins, but most of the time I wouldn't waste my time there.

And I wouldn't even bother with the Walmart Supercenter near Colonial and Alafaya.

I wouldnt bother with the one here next to Oaks Mall, it's a totally ghetto store and their clearance sales suck.

I have had good luck finding clearance items at the Super Target in Clearwater (old Clearwater mall). However, I am still looking for a clearance Halo XBox headset. Anyone see one around Tampa Bay area?

Have info on Gainesville, Tallahassee, St. Augustine, and Ocala. I'll try to post it later when i have time, gotta head to class right now. Get my learn on!

There is one right next to the Fashion Square mall. It's been there a while, and shows it. Never had any issues shopping there, though.

GameRush:
Kissimmee (BVL subdivision): Large selection, nice employees.
Winter Garden: Small selection, but so is the store. Nice people.
Dr. Phillips, Orlando: Selection is decent, store is usually understaffed.
East Colonial, Orlando: Large selection, knowledgable staff.

Best Buy:
Florida Mall, Orlando: Busy store, sells out of sales quickly. Generally decent staff.
Ocoee: Decent store, decent staff. Some deals available when others sell out.
Lakeland: Layout is strange, but they tend to keep stock during sales. Individual checkout lanes.
East Colonial, Orlando (near Semoran): Okay stock. Rarely make a special trip.

TRU:
Florida Mall, Orlando: Generally decent stock, but sells out during sales quickly.
Ocoee: Good stock, generally well organized.
Fashion Square Mall, Orlando: Shows its age, smaller store.
Lakeland: Older store, okay stock.

EB:

Florida Mall, Orlando (outside): New store, clean and well stocked. Nice staff.
South OBT, Orlando (Target shopping center, near Greenway): Well stocked and very friendly staff.
Ocoee (West Oaks Mall): Small store, okay selection, staff generally clueless.
Ocoee (Walmart shopping center): New store, well stocked, friendly staff.
Fashion Square Mall, Orlando: Older mall location, nice staff. Pretty good selection.

Target:
West 192, Kissimmee (SuperTarget): New store, clearance is limited. Stocks some tourist stuff. Clearance items take longer to drop.

South OBT, Orlando (SuperTarget): Big store, usually has a decent selection of clearance.

I think those are most of my regulars.
There is one right next to the Fashion Square mall. It's been there a while, and shows it. Never had any issues shopping there, though.
Ah, thanks for the info. Never been to Fashion Square mall. I usually go to the Oviedo mall.

In the Miami-Dade County Area....

Best Buy:

Pembroke Pines- Generally has nothing in stock unless you are lucky and people there don't knw what they are doing.

Hialeah- This is a pretty decent store. One of the original BB in Miami and still has a great selection and relatively good customer service.

Bird Road- I'd say this is the best Best Buy that I know of. Their selection is the best, and the people there are always nice. Usually not that busy and in a pretty quiet little corner.

Circuit City:

Pembroke Pines- This store is good but their video game dept. is a mess. I usually go in there and ask the associates and even then I once had a guy tell me (when I went to go buy Capcom Fighting Evolution) that he had it in stock but he wasn't going to look for it in the stock room coz it was in a box. Too bad...their loss. EB got the sale.

Hialeah- Not looking much better here either. The games are a mess as well and they are in crappy metal racks that will topple over any second. Let's just not shop at CC in Miami, eh.

Gamestop:

I've been to almost all of them. I can say overall they are pretty much the same except for one horror story.

Pembroke Lakes Mall- The gamestop at Pembroke Lakes mall is the biggest crap! I was looking for old PS1 games to buy cheap and they were thrown in a crap bin. As I'm digging for the games sitting on the floor an associate yells at me to not mess up HIS games. I proceed to yell at him in return that I'm not messing them up, that he didn't know how to organize and I had to look through them in that manner. He gave me more attitude, so I threw all the PS1 games at him and left. Let the bastard organize them now.

EB Games:

Much better than Gamestop overall.

Country Lakes plaza (67th Ave and Miami Gardens)- Absolutely great people there. Friendly, organized and just amazing. Shop here if you can.

Miramar (next to I-75..Silver Lakes Plaza)- Pretty good too. This is a newer store so not much in there, but nice people working there.

Every other EB- Yeah...shop here. They tend to have lower prices than Gamestop anyways (at least in my experience).

Toys R Us:

All of Miami- Don't bother they tend to suck.

Thanks kojubat and s3v3n777 for the updates - I've updated the original post to reflect your info.

Any opinions by anyone on the format of the list in the original post? Is it readable? Easy to search through?

I agree, I used to work at BCBS off of Gate Parkway and have spent many lunch hours shopping/browsing at Rhino... Great place..

I get most of my used games from a place called Game Force in Jacksonville, not sure if there are other locations but I go to the one at the intersection of Beach Blvd and San Pablo, in the Walmart shopping center. Its kinda small, they dont carry a huge selection of new games but they do have a decent used game section and get in some old school systems from time to time.. I always seem to find something at a excellent price.

Yeah I live Close to Ganiesville and I go to the shitty BB on Archer Road all the time they suck .

I'm in the St. Pete area and frequent the Game Rush locations on 19, 49th and 4th Street. Don't really know of any hot spotts; sometimes I get lucky. On a side note, I work in Bradenton, and when Target had the $5.99 DVD collections, the location on Fruitville Road was a gold mine.

Okay so I am tired of being dicked around by BB and was wondering if there was a place locally I could try and price match Radiata Stories from BB. I've tried Wal-Mart, fye, CC, TRU (OOS), ebgames, Rhino and GS (wont price match sale prices), Target and Kmart (dont pm at all). Any other ideas?

Sears maybe? I've read about other people price-matching there, but that could be YMMV. Not sure if they'd carry Radiata either since it's not mass-market, but worth a shot ;-)

Radiata not mass market?

Maybe on the moon or something. Hell, even K-Mart got in Radiata and advertised it in their weekly ad.

Hell we got more copies of Radiata than Burnout, on all three systems combined.

I wish there was something like this when I lived in FL, The best deal I saw when i lived in FL was Gitaroo Man at some random guys shop for 34.99 but I think he went out of business. The Merrit Island EB is the worst EB i've ever been too. The one guy with glasses just GAH i just wanna choke him :bomb:
