I hear that Mario DDR will be discontinued. I got official word from a Nintendo employee that Nintendo has stopped production of Mario DDR and does not plan to make any more. That means, the game has been discontinued. That really sucks. I wanted to pick up this game and was waiting for a price drop.

I have talked to another Nintendo rep and was told the game was simply sold out. I have no clue what as to what happened.
Let Gamequest get wind of this, and your Mario DDR problems will be no more!
Gamequest is already selling it for $120 on Amazon! Amazing!

btw: what's the problem with the pad?

I know a few stores loaded with piles of these in the back.

After tax, ebay fees, paypal fees I am not sure it is worth the gas to purchase and ship. $100+ for a game that just came out? Glad I got mine already.

I wanted it, but I only have one functional leg and can't put any pressure on it (haven't for over a year either). :(

At least I have Donkey Konga....

That post reminds me of that SNL skit i think it's called Debbie Downer.

I was going to pick this up at BB on Black Friday (they had about six) w/coupon but the line was extremely long. I might go back for one just incase they become hard to find.
EDIT: I was just informed that Nintendo is not shipping out any more copies of the game. It does not mean that the game will be permanently discontinued, but Nintendo will not be shipping this game out for some time due to a problem.
Where did you get this info?
btw: what's the problem with the pad?
I'm curious about this too, as I have two of them... (The Nintendo Store online is still selling the dance pads.)

For whatever reason none of the major sites are selling this game. But i think nintendo could fix the problem and make a second shippment since this game is selling very well.

We got an email in our system yesterday at GS that they were discontinued. They are listed that way as well. So there will be no more shipments to us. I guess I need to pick up a few while I can.

This is simply insane. I have mine, but I can't imagine Nintendo discontinuing what has to be a major holiday seller. If there's a problem with the pad, then replace the pad and keep rolling.

My girlfriend has it.
I'll just give her my Extreme and take this, she won't care. Shes passed everything on it anyways, its easy and sucks. She never plays it.

I have to wonder if some idiot kid tripped on his own feet while playing the game and now his idiot parents are threating to sue Nintendo over their own idiots' idiocy.
copies are selling for $80-90 on ebay as of yesterday.

It must be hard to find in some parts.
Wow, just checked and it's true. $100+ with shipping. Might be a nice little market to sell in. Inflated prices also because sellers are posting the paypal coupons.

They should've put this out in arcades just to see who dared play it in public. I'm sorry, but DDR experts creep me out.

I've heard it's just going to be hard to find during the holidays due to a shortage in the dance pads... considering it's been selling briskly and Nintendo has invested a fair amount of effort into marketing it, it doesn't make sense that it's going to be pulled from shelves permanently so suddenly.

"Shop as usual... and avoid panic buying."

I can't belive how much they are selling for on EBay. I was going to say, who would pay $125+ for that game but then again, people were paying $100 for a horrible port of Disney Mix a while ago (the US version I mean, the arcade and Japanese PS1 versions were good)

Prolly the kid of the lady that sued Mcdonalds for serving hot coffee

I guess I should actually unroll that mat and play it, see how it is. No luck finding additional copies in stores to double up on eBay.

And yes, I suck at DDR, so if this is as easy as everyone says, it might actually be attainable for me :p

what s the big dfeal with this game...

i rented this game from gamefly and should be here hopefully tomm...

i love ddr games but i never use the mats.. i just like the music

Since eBay's flooded, the prices have dropped to around $60-$80 range. Amazon.com's sold out, but Marketplace sellers are selling them for ridiculous amounts (I bet they wound up selling too). I managed to snag a pair at GameRush and just eBayed one for $86 (including priority shipping/insurance/DC). In essence, I got the other one free. Makes up for when the EB manager cancelled the dance-off contest due to a lack of interest.

Which was many degrees hotter than it should have been. At normal serving tempratures (which of course are still hot) there was no way coffee could have burned her so bad. McDonalds was made aware of this problem several times before the incident with the old lady and did nothing to change things. There may be a 1000 stupid lawsuits a day in America but that wasn't one of them. I wish people would actually learn the facts about this case before using it as an example. Surprisingly enough (I was shocked too when I learned more about the case), the woman had a good case against Mikey D's.

Anyway, as others have said, there is some problem with the pads and it seems Nintendo wants to fix them. A response in the other thread make it seem like an electric wiring problem which is a pretty bad one if true.

It was I who posted in the other thread. I can't believe none of you are experiencing a problem with yours. After playing the game, I turn off the Cube, unplug the mat, and go to pick it up to store under my bed. If I grab the black box at the top of the mat (where the cord goes into the mat) I receive a pretty good sized shock. It happened three times before I realized what was causing it. This is a very big hazard. It's strong enough to possibly hurt a small child. I called Nintendo last week about the problem, and they said it was a manufacturing error. I have to call back again to see what they plan to do about it. If you have this problem, call: 1-800-448-6797 and ask to speak to a "Product Support Specialist." That's what I was told in the email I received from them.

Electrical force feedback DDR?! Awesome! I actually have a dance machine "scar" from doing a handplant on Pump It Up. Damned screw tore up my palm.

This really is a serious problem especially since the audience for this DDR mix is skewed younger than the remaining hardcore DDR maniacs. If it's true, though, I imagine that they'd announce a recall instead simply halting shipments.

The word besides the official word is that they're out of stock (even in the company store I believe) and so that's where the rumor came from I'm guessing.

Putting coffee in your fucking lap is dumb. If it burns you, you deserve it. She's a dumbass, people like their coffee hot and not luke warm.

Nintendo came out and said it's not discontinued it's just selling out in many places and Nintendo can't get anymore here until after the holidays.... hmmm sounds like MS....

I like how people refer to the McDonald case without knowing everything about it. The women got 3rd degree burns in her legs, not something your normal hot coffee would do. The coffee spilled by itself because it is too hot. McDonald also know that the coffee were too hot to be drink and yet still served it.

How the hell can coffee "spill itself" because it was too hot?

And FYI, oh expert of the McDonalds coffee case, she DID put the coffee between her legs/knees (which, if i'm not mistaken, is her lap).

After receiving the order, the grandson pulled his car forward and
stopped momentarily so that Liebeck could add cream and sugar to her
coffee. (Critics of civil justice, who have pounced on this case, often
charge that Liebeck was driving the car or that the vehicle was in
motion when she spilled the coffee; neither is true.) Liebeck placed
the cup between her knees and attempted to remove the plastic lid from
the cup. As she removed the lid, the entire contents of the cup spilled
into her lap.

Perhaps you should read the case yourself before trying to prove someone wrong. Seriously.. "the coffee spilled itself"?

She got 2nd degree burns on her labia, not 3rd degree burns on her legs... get your facts before you try to correct someone elses.

Thank you!

I so love when one dumbass thinks that he knows everythnig about a case and yet still doesn't make any since.

Actually he is right about the third degree burns.

The sweatpants Liebeck was wearing absorbed the coffee and held it next
to her skin. A vascular surgeon determined that Liebeck suffered full
thickness burns (or third-degree burns) over 6 percent of her body,
including her inner thighs, perineum, buttocks, and genital and groin
areas. She was hospitalized for eight days, during which time she
underwent skin grafting. Liebeck, who also underwent debridement
treatments, sought to settle her claim for $20,000, but McDonalds
refused.

Actually, she is a dumbass.

Everywhere from my local Costco, Starbucks, and even my bathroom has something called HOT water and you are responsible for taking caution. She held a cup precariously between her legs and I believe she wasn't concentrating. Now, I've spilled bits of water from my water bottle in my car. Do I go and sue Aquafina?

Dumb risky actions are entirely her fault. McDonalds, keep serving your coffee piping hot.
