Heat Vision and Jack was created as a 1999 pilot for Fox. Written by Dan Harmon and Rob Schrab, directed by Ben Stiller, this series was passed over by Fox despite critical acclaim from those who've been lucky enough to see it.

The 30 minute pilot is about an astronaut (played by Jack Black) with a medical secret who is on the run from the evil Ron Silver and the rest of NASA, with the help of a talking motorcycle called Heat Vision (voiced by Owen Wilson).

Anyone who digs this should check out Channel 101, to which Harmon and Schrab are huge contributors. In fact, Schrab's penis is kind of why the site exists to begin with, in a roundabout way.

I came across the pilot for this show about a year ago. It's a pretty hilarious sendup of 1980's television programming. And on top of that, it stars Jack friggin' Black!

"para-GONE, get it Jack? Para-GONE" Way back before there was an official Tenacious D Dvd my friend bought a bootleg of the show & it had Heat Vision and Jack on it. We must have watched it 20 or 30 times...

I downloaded this a few months ago and it's AWESOME. What a shame it didn't get made into a series.

And yeah, Channel 101 is awesome too.

There has been talks about making this a film, over the past couple of years.
