I don't know how I feel about this...

....i hate the world.

you know, overall.

If it was for medical reasons, sure, or a reduction, otherwise this is grade A bull crap.

Why shouldn't our military have the biggest hooters of them all!?!?!?!?

sarcasm aside this is BS.

Yea... thats a bit rediculous. "The surgeons need someone to practice on".. unless they're using 2nd year pre-med students.. they should know what they're doing.

I wonder if veterans can apply for this free surgery... hmm, something to look into if they get that penis implant going on.

I'm sorry, if they want this done, I don't want to be the one paying for it. Give the money to our schools or to the hungry or something.
ill gladly pay for it....

she looks like a man, and she had both of her arms and legs blown off in combat....but goddamn look at that set on her!
Ok, well that's good for you an all, since one you won't be there to see it, and two I just don't understand because I am a girl, and I naturally am big breasted.

More proof that the government is, in fact, wasting your tax dollars. (I'm an unemployed high schooler - no taxes for me!)

It's just a waste of time and money that could be used in other, better ways...like actually trying to catch those terrorists that Bush is so keen on eliminating.

not sure what you mean by "you wont be there to see it"....it is a well-known rule that every breast-job gets the once over by me first before being able to be viewed in public

as for you being naturally big-breasted....good job....you can thank your mom and they can thank thier doctor....and i can thank your mom and their doctor....nice how that works

I think the forum would require photographic proof before allowing you to make a claim like that.

One thing I found odd in this article is that it mentions the "four branches of the U.S. military". Aren't there five (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, and Coast Guard)?

Well I'm going to have to go against the grain here.
I think it is a good idea. Nice little perk. It's not like military surgeons are performing on private citizens.

What if let's say GI Joe catchs a piece of shrapnel in the cheek during a military exercise that leaves a huge gash? Should he have a inexperienced military surgeon perform plastic surgery on him? I think not.

What if GI Jane has esteem issues because she has tits resembling infected mosquitoe bites. Should'nt she be allowed a boob job? It would be like this

GI Jane: I want a boob job.
Military: No, you can't have one. You're in the military. Suffer until you become a private citizen and can pay for the procedure yourself.

Gimme a break. What's the big deal. These people serve for their country and should be penalized cause they want some type of plastic surgery. I think not.

Oh all I meant is that wouldn't you rather see your tax money, since it is being used on military people, on humans you actually you can see? The women in Iraq getting blown up, that's a waste isn't it??

I also really regret the second part of my post, I don't know what I was thinking.......need coffee.....

That's fine if they want one, I am not against that part, but why do my tax dollars have to pay for it??

I don't know either....While it's certainly a benefit that won't, well, benefit the soldier during her service [at least not in a work-related way] I can see some logic to it.
If there are military doctors serving, who aren't doing anything [which I find difficult to believe, but possible] but are still 'on duty', and the soldier requesting the surgery is on her own time or taking approved, earned R&R or whatever, I'd rather have them doing surgeries, even cosmetic ones, than twiddling their thumbs doing nothing.
Of course, I have a problem with the choice of surgeries--I don't want the men [and i guess some women] in the military focusing on PFC Jane Smith's new armaments, instead of doing their job....

believe me, your tax dollar has gone to worse before...at least now we'll SEE where its going...hopefully, we'll see so much of where our tax money is going that it'll poke us in the eye....

I guess maybe this could have a demoralizing effect on the enemy in repressive areas, such as those under fundamentalist Muslim regimes. I mean, if you mandate that your own women have to be covered from head to toe it would probably piss you off to see our soldiers' bountiful bosoms on display...heaving majestically...glistening with the sweat of desert combat...

Because you live and work in this country. If you want to whine about your tax dollers I'll make a new thread:

Absurd Military contracts with privately owned companies

Then I could whine with you.

Don't forget to mention 'millions of fed tax dollars to create a land bridge for 55 people in Alaska', thank you very much Ted Stevens.
There's plenty of pork in the federal budget, and plenty more things that are 'iffy', and plenty of things that are commonly accepted but should never be the federal governments domain.
