Famed game developer Rare Ltd. is reviving one of its most beloved and successful franchises exclusively on Xbox 360® with the third installment of the Banjo-Kazooie series. Banjo-Kazooie™: Nuts & Bolts embraces new and old fans alike, as the famous bear and bird duo return in stunning high definition for a unique adventure of epic proportions. The Lord of the Games (aka LOG) is tired of the petty squabbling between Banjo and the evil witch Gruntilda (aka Grunty) over the years, and has arranged a showdown to decide the rightful owner of Spiral Mountain. Claiming to have created every video game ever made, LOG has built the game worlds in which the contest’s challenges take place. Banjo must complete LOG’s challenges to win, while Grunty tries to stop him using every method her devious mind can muster.
Throughout your adventure, create your own abilities by building vehicles for Banjo to pilot over land, water, and air. Vehicle parts, which range from simple devices such as engines and wheels to more unusual equipment such as springs and egg guns, are earned and collected throughout the game. Use your imagination to combine parts in any order to create whatever vehicle you choose. LOG's challenges have one goal, but your choice of vehicle and tactics will determine how you get there. By exploring worlds and solving puzzles, you will be rewarded with more advanced and diverse vehicle parts in your quest to defeat Grunty once and for all.
With the power of Xbox 360® and Xbox LIVE®, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts brings an entirely new experience to the console and takes the franchise to a whole new level of enjoyment. High-definition graphics, user-created content, and online gameplay are just three of the many advances people of all ages and skill levels will discover as they embark on their adventure.
 • Adventure and imagination: If you can imagine it, you can build it in the Mumbo's Motors easy-to-use workshop. Then put your creation to the test as you take on Grunty in your quest for Spiral Mountain. Unlike other games, where you progressively picks up new skills or abilities at points pre-determined by the game’s creator, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts puts the power of improving Banjo's abilities into your hands as you build vehicles that allow Banjo to progress through the game. Vehicle parts include a wide variety of body panels, engines, wheels, wings, propellers, fuel, and weapons, plus many more weird and wonderful gadgets such as floaters, Mumbo Bombos, and the versatile sticky ball, from which you can design and create anything from a simple object-carrying truck to a space-age flying saucer. Once you've designed your creation, give it the finishing touch by painting it and choosing a suitable name before Banjo jumps in and pilots it into action.
 • Customizable experience: With more than 100 contraption parts and unlimited combinations possible, no two players will have the same experience in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. By exploring the vast game worlds, discovering hidden secrets, and solving puzzles to win rewards, you will continually find more and more ways to customize and improve your contraptions, creating an unprecedented level of user-generated content for a 3-D platform adventure game.
 • Fun right out of the box: Don't worry if you aren’t the world’s greatest inventor or want to skip the workshop and get straight to the action, because Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts comes with a fully loaded experience right out of the box. Pre-built vehicles are included so you can jump right in and get started, with many more contraptions available for purchase throughout the adventure using the in-game currency system of musical notes.
 • Engaging storyline and entertaining characters: Two of Rare's most beloved characters return from retirement, making their debut on Xbox 360. To win the deed to their homeland and prevent the evil witch Gruntilda from developing it into tower blocks and malls, Banjo and his best friend Kazooie battle over land, sea, and air against their longtime rival. Familiar faces such as Mumbo Jumbo, Bottles, Captain Blubber, and the Jinjos are also back to lend a hand, along with an equally colorful cast of new friends and foes. Look out for Trophy Thomas, Piddles, Lord of the Games, and Grunty's mechanically menacing army of Gruntbots.
 • Enjoy alone or with friends: Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts offers a complete single-player and multiplayer experiences. Play through the adventure alone in the single-player campaign, or play with friends in competitive or cooperative challenges on your own or in teams.
 • Fun for everyone: Xbox 360 is the home to the best entertainment experiences for everyone. With Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Xbox 360 continues to build its impressive lineup of content that appeals to people of all ages and types.

I've always had a policy with systems that I need a minimum of 5 exclusive games on a system to really pick up any interest in it.

X06 gave us two such games so far (before that Dead Rising, Elder Scrolls IV, and some interest in Condemned/Rumble Roses XX/Chromehounds/Amped 3 amounted to a full wanted game). Halo Wars already has a thread. The sequel to my favorite 3D platformer ever does not.

Banjo Kazooie 3. Is anyone else breaking out in a cold sweat in anticipation for this game or is it just me?

See the part in the image above that says "only for N64?" Well, you can scratch that now. Over at X06, Microsoft and Rare have announced that Banjo Kazooie will indeed be making its way into the Xbox360.

Yes, the well-loved and popular adventure game that once made N64 users happpeeee will be bringing laughs to Xbox360 users as well. The 1998 N64 game featured characters Banjo, Kazooie, Tooty, Gruntilda, Mumbo Jumbo, Bottles the mole, etc. and we're guessing (no, wait, we're hoping) that these characters will also appear and be playable on the game when it comes to the 360.

Microsoft and Rare's announcement at the X06 promised that Banjo Kazooie will come to the 360 with "new next-gen visuals and presentation as well as their sharp wit and hilarious sense of humor." Other than that, neither of the companies have divulged any information about the 360 version, so nope, no release date yet. A 2007 release is not entirely out of the question though, so here's to hoping that the game comes out sooner than we expect. *crosses fingers*

im excited....

I thought Banjo was part of Donkey Kong's world? Maybe thats just because he and Conker were in Diddy Kong Racing on the 64 before Banjo even had his own game.

Regardless, it looks like Rare kept the rights for him.

Yes, a Banjo game would be great. The first two games on the Nintendo 64 were the best platformers every made, in my opinion.
I've never played Banjo Kazooie. I have it, I just haven't played it.
And yet you're still here.... not playing it. Wait, are you here?

Banjo-Kazooie I liked.

Banjo-Tooie couldn't get pass Witchyworld. It turned into a SFS (Search for Shit game), which I hate. Just like how DK64 was for me.

I will give this game a chance though, but who knows when it comes out. We all know that Rare's track record for releasing games can only be beaten by Nintendo. I imagine we might see this game at the end of the Xb360 lifespan or onto the next console Microsoft comes up with.
And yet you're still here.... not playing it. Wait, are you here?
Yeah I'm still here. I was about to play it, but the joystick on my N64 controller is broken...I'm assuming I need that to play the game?

I loved the first Banjo, and so I will be watching this one closely. I'm a little scared what the final project will play like, because as of late, Rare has been dogshit.

I'm actually happy that it ended up being Banjo, as much as I loved KI i suck at fighters but atleast I can get deep into this one. I still would love to see a KI in the future but this was definately good news. I hope that they add some sort of co-op and not Kameo style co-op where you finish the level by yourself and then you can replay it in co-op that was BS!!!. It would be cool to have a Banjo-Conker cross over co-op...sigh...I can dream.

I enjoyed Banjo-Kazooie, it was well thought out and fun (for its time).

Banjo-Tooie, though, was too much of the same and that's when I realized that the style of gameplay (endlessly collecting shit) just didn't do anything for me anymore.

Rare will seriously need to over-haul the game's progression style to get me interested at all.

Banjo Tooie seemed to say: "Hey, collecting stuff worked well in the first game. Let's have collecting stuff and massive amounts of back tracking in the second!"

Also... is it just me or does Jinjo sound like a racial slur?
Will it be called Banjo Threeie?
On XBLM it was called Banjo Kazui.

Who knows if its a typo or if its the official name.

Uh...

Not that this news should change your mind.

As far as Banjo vs. Killer Instinct: Killer Instinct would have been cool, but I'm honestly not interested in the prospect of either game unless they totally floored me. As it is, Banjo is probably better to have as it brings a AAA platform pedigree to the 360. Hopefully they won't blow it.

I hope you're patient. Anybody remember when they announced Perfect Dark Zero and Kameo for Gamecube, then Xbox, then finally xbox 360?

Banjo-Kazooie is my second worst N64 memory, right after DK64 (consider the damage these two did, when I played Superman 64). Seriously, it was a terrible, terrible game.

I don't understand how you guys can like it. Did it give you some sort of brain tumor that makes you confused, or something?

How you can rank Banjo-Kazooie and DK64 below Superman 64 is just....uh fuck.

All you need to do is aim it at your head and pull the trigger! (And you can be like Terrel Owens!)

I couldn't care less about this announcement. The N64 games weren't that good to me, as I found much better platformers elsewhere and have much better prospective platformers coming down the pipe.

I liked banjo-Kazooie, and the only reason I bought Banjo-Tooie was because of those motherfucking mysterious items....mainly that Ice key that was unreachable in the first game except by glitch or cheat device. wtf were up with thos items?

So what do you guys think of their new looks? I can't say im disapointed, its a fresh look for them and hopefully fresh gameplay will follow.

Rare is reuniting Banjo the bear, Kazooie the bird-thing, the evil witch Gruntilda, and other fan-favorite characters from the series and giving them high-definition makeovers. Though most of the original team has moved on from Rare, the company is aiming to retain the series sense of humor and charm.

New team, hopefully better gameplay.

I thought the N64 titles were dingy, although I remember kind of liking the first one.

With that said, I'm glad they've made it to the next-gen -- I like platformers, and I'd like to see what they do this time around.

Banjo-Kazooie is actually better than Mario 64, IMO. It did everything Mario did but better and ranks up there with the best the N64 had to offer. Banjo Tooie was a good game but definitely a bit of a disappointment (I think this was because it was a little too ambitious in terms of size and it pushed the N64 a little harder than it could handle in terms of framerate). The collect-a-thon genre probably died for me with BT and DK64.

Unfirtunately, since no one from the original team is left and Rare totally blows these days I am confident that Banjo 3 will be a huge disappointment and just a middle of the road platformer with annoying characters and shitty controls. I hope I'm wrong though but the Rare I remember fondly is kind of dead.

If this game is anything like the N64 ones, I will be the X360 solely for this game. I am hoping that this game will be better that Halo3

Edit: After seeing the trailer, the new Banjo look is kinda ehhhhhhhhh. and Kazooie looks too much like a female(Yes, I know that she is a girl).

Anyone saying Banjo Kazooie was better then Mario 64 is certifiably insane. Banjo Kazooie set the bar for all generic 3-D platformers and almost single handedly killed the genre until Ratchet and Clank came along. The game was nothing but fetch quests and was completely devoid or anything even the least bit fun or entertaining. There was no skill involved at all outside of trying to navigate the awful camera. At least Mario 64 had some action and required some skill on the part of the player. Banjo Kazooie was just awful.

Just watched the trailer. Don't like the way Banjo or Kazooie look. Banjo is way too boxy looking and Kazooie is just off somehow. Nice to hear the same sound effects though.

Why all the rare hate. I picked up Kameo and Perfect Dark Zero for my 360 and both are enjoyable games. Kameo I love to death its just a great game and Perfect Dark Zero dosent exactly suck its not the best FPS I've played but its solid(could do with less loading time though loading on it sucks given the size of the stages).

Anyone else worried about the new theme heard at the end of the trailer? I guess Banjo-Kazooie theme can be filed under the "Put any tune into a rock remix makes it cool" folder.

I wonder who they're going to make the game for / market it to? The younger gamer, as Microsoft seems to be trying to attracting, or those that played the game on the N64?

Anyone else think that Rare being sold to Microsoft is even worse now than what it was when it happened? It seems like the company is working with a skeleton crew nowadays, what the hell happened to one of the greatest developers? I guess the Stamper bros. looked into their crystal ball and though it was a good time for them to bail. All the power to them in the end.

I don't like the new look of Banjo, but it's something I can live with. Banjo and Kazooie don't look like the cartoony characters that I loved in the first one.

I could give a shit about more trash put out by Rare.

Rare's games dont exactly age well either.
As for that last comment, you are the biggest scumbag mother fucker I've ever heard. You stupid douchebag, think before you say statements dumbfuck. If only your mother didnt drop you on your head.
Remember, this is GameFAQs CAG, where every almost every thread becomes a flame war. You should not be that surprised.

catch td passes from donovan mcnabb?
the trailer seems to confirm that Banjo is really excited to start collecting a billion items again!
That was funny.

Their new look was surprising but not upsetting. There will be so many people playing this that never played the original. I hope they sell it for $50 (and HOPEFULLY a Collectors Edition for $60). I loved the Rare games on the N64 especially the banjo games and DK 64. I really didnt like PDZ except for the multiplayer but Kameo which I jsut got is decent (but trying a little too hard). I hope they dont kill banjo.

Banjo was never part of the Donkey Kong world. Sure, he appeared in Diddy Kong Racing, but so did other characters such as Conker who are in no way part of the Donkey Kong World.

Crap...I got thinking about this too. I really do hope that they release it within the next year but their history hasn't been too great with timely releases.

So, are we taking bets on which system this is coming out on?

I bet it comes out on whatever Nintendo's next console is after the Wii.
