Toys R Us is having a promotion for Nintendo's new console, a total of 25,000 Wii units will be giving out over the duration of the event, this news comes from In-Store Marketing Group, the game is based off of NBC's Deal or No Deal television program.

Weekly circulars will have two suitecase cutout game pieces, players can cut out the suitecases, go into a Toys R Us store, and opt for a Deal (Scores them a 10% off an in-store item coupon), or a No Deal (Cashier's scan the ticket, lucky winners score a Wii console, or lose their 10% coupon in favor of a 5% coupon).

Players can play once a week as they get the new ads in.

There's also a $1 million prize, including a trip to Los Angeles to attend the show, as if anyone wants that. There's also a handful of other prizes including Nintendo products (non-Wii), Sony products, and Leapfrog products.

not bad promotion..can the 10% off be stacked with the buy 2 get 1 free coming up..any dates when the promotion starts?

I wonder if these are available in-store, as finding a Sunday paper seems to be a little difficult now?
 
When it says this weekend's newspaper, does it mean this upcoming weekend or yesterday's newspaper? I'm gonna try this out when I go in for the upcoming B2G1 sale. Thanks, OP!

Game Pieces will be distributed in Toys"R"Us newspaper inserts on 10/01/06, 10/08/06, 10/15/06 and 10/22/06.

btw, the 10% off is for one item, valid throug 10/28

So we have next weekend and any staggler papers from yesterday... I had seen the commercials but didnt pay much attention to it.. For me its no deal all day long obviously.

Since the "losing" papers are mass produced, how about we list the "No Deal" upc's. That way we can find out if our numbers are unique and possibly a winner.

For the October 1-7 paper, my "No Deal upc's are
Scan in at sale: 4 00057 08740 3
Scan at tender: 5 00009 16042 7

Oct 8-14,
Scan at sale: same as above
Scan at tender: 5 00009 16281 0

I didnt hav one this past sunday and it was my first sunday to buy the paper also.. Out of the two papers I netted a big fat 0 in Toys R Us Ads..
 
Man... i got excited when i saw this in the paper a couple weeks ago.. we went to toys r us and bought a bunch of stuff and the staff didnt know what the hell they were looking at when i handed them the game piece.

She was like... hmmm looks like you can either get 10% off or 5% off? Or something? Which do you want...?

And i was like... its a game piece, i have the possibility of winning something.... i want to play the game.

She scanned it like 6 times and had no clue what was going on.

She just shrugged and said "Sorry, i dont know how this thing works...? At least you got 5% off an item!"

And took the game piece and kept it.

Dammit.

I didn't pay attention to the TRU ads after that. I thought it was a one time thing.

Now you never know if you had a smart TRU employee and you had won a wii but she lead you on and only gave you 5% and kept the winning UPC!?

All TRU coupons can generally be stacked with any other sales promotions or even other coupons. As long as you don't use 2 coupons with the same coupon #, they should work together.

I have a feeling there are more winners than we even know about. They are probably scanning the top barcode on the no deal which appears to be the same for everyone. While the bottom one has various codes. What's the best way to get them to scan the "scan at teller" code?

shoot they scan the top code and said you got 5%. Too bad i dont feel like going back.
