Usually, yes. I bought it for 3.99 at least 6 months ago B&M so worst case it's a buck more.

I got it for $45 (with a $5 off coupon at BB from EGM) and it was worth every motherfucking dollar.

Really, to me, a masterpiece (despite graphics and control issues).

I remember finishing the first third and thinking the game was over but then opening up the next part of the city and just being in gaming heaven.

The only one I could get into was San Andreas. I used to live in San Diego back in the early ninties and while I have nothing in common with CJ, that game has the whole early-ninties west coast vibe down pat. Plus I'd say, from what I played of the first two, CJ is a more likable character.

I will NEVER buy used games from gamestop/ EBgames online again. You can end up with a loose disk, with no manual, or package.

I agree completely. If you can get this price B&M, go for it. Otherwise I would avoid it like the plague.

You can get this (well at least I can) for $5 complete anywhere and the game has like no resale value. I had it on my TL for $5 more than a year and no one even asked about it so I just gave it away. I'm not saying its a bad game, I'm just saying its untradeable.

now if only gta vice city would drop below 20. all o fthe gta games are worth owning although lcs is avg at best ut theyre fun games to pick up and play around in especially due to the music stations and talk radio stations. if they put vice city stories on the ps2 i hope they add alot more music.

Nice price, I never played GTA3, only Vice City and San Andreas. I'll probably pick it up to keep my mind off all my Wii troubles.

Wow, it's always odd to see great games drop so low in value (like seeing Super Mario Brothers for the NES for a quarter at thrift stores). I got this for full price (Christmas gift) and never regretted it. It was definitely worth $50.

Even though the graphics are the weakest of the series on the PS2, each game had it's own charm. For III, it was the fact that your character was silent. So, you could impose whatever personality you wanted on him. Hard to do that with the other 2 games.

If your just getting a PS2, and you think you'll hate the GTA series (if you've never played it). I think you still owe it to yourself to pick this up for a few bucks, and give it a chance. Maybe you will hate it, but if you love it, you got a great game fpr practically nothing.

God of War

shadow of the colossus

ico

ratchet and clank 1-3 ( best platformers on the ps2)

gta 3, vice city, san andreas

midnight club racing 2 and 3 ( with 3 get the dub edition remix ) this is the best racing series ive played ever reminds me of how fun need for speed was on the ps1 only the game feels more opened ended and less like youre stuck going around in dull circles liek most racers.

devil may cry 3 se

hulk ultimate destruction ( especially if youre a marvel comics fan)

spider man 2

re 4

tony hawk undergound 1

the warriors

There's something wrong with you if you haven't played this yet.

Good PS2 releases are:

The entire GTA trilogy
Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution (not the original, though thats pretty good too)
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
Klonoa 2
Dragon Quest VIII

...just to name a few off the top of my head. The Xbox had a much better run than the PS2 though...

Mainstream opinions all over again..

I agree with most of Rozz list though..

Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution is a must
Marvel VS Capcom 2 if you can find it

But I'm, definitely adding

King of Fighters 00/01/02/03
Capcom VS SNK 2
Soul Calibur 3
Tekken 5
STREET FIGHTER ALPHA ANTHOLOGY

[Can you tell I love fighters?]

But I will also add

Dance Dance Revolution MAX2/EXTREME 2
Xenosaga Episodes I-III [mostly I and III, best RPG this generation]
Final Fantasy X/X-2
Sega Genesis Collection [the new one by Digital Eclipse]
Capcom Classics Collection V.1/V.2
Gran Turismo 4
Kingdom Hearts 1/2 [play one NOW, wait a little for a price drop on 2 or the final mix/com rerelease]

Most all these are PS2 exclusives and in my opinion define what the PS2 is all about...the genre that GC and XBOX never did well, great classic games, arcade games, fighting games, role playing games, racing games

I went into a Gamestop today to check how much EB credit I have left from some old tradein deals . . . found I had $35 and a still active Edge card. GS closed the EB in my city.

Anyway, I found a nice complete copy of DK Jungle Beat for $12.99 before my 10% off. There are probably a few deals on games.
