CheapyD's PS3 Unboxing Appears on Wall Street Journal Front Page

next thing we know this vid will be nominated for an academy award.

My office hangs the front page of the WSJ in the men's restroom because they think it makes us look "sofisticated." So be proud in knowing that people will be staring at you while urinating all day! Congrats! ;)

I don't think that's all they're gonna be doing while staring at CheapyD in a bathroom. ;)

Now G4 will be calling back anytime about "uh, that Man in Japan reality show you mentioned", but this time you'll be the one passing. Let them drown in The Jamie Kennedy Xperiment reruns and adverts featuring doughy pasty-faces pretending that they can even program their TiVo, let alone a game.

At least the tagline doesn't say something like:

Serial killer David Abrams (seen here in a Youtube video) has been on the run from authorities since his 14th victim was discovered last summer.

I've been contacted by Good Morning America...this is going to be their youtube video of the week and will be aired next wednesday.

I love how in the video she says that people live "Bicurious" by watching these videos...

I ususally use that term for my friends and I as to us being curious about bing bisexual.

Awesome! Now a nationwide audience can watch how unexcited you are opening a $600 game system!

J/K, Gratz Cheapy! Here's to being one step closer to Internet riches.

BTW, how come you didn't do an unboxing video of your Wii purchase? Maybe you can get on the Today show next...

Probably because he was one of the first people to have a PS3 in his home. Where as, thousands of people in the US already had a Wii.

Anyway, Congratulations Cheapy!

Fun little article. I'm actually kinda disappointed i saw it here first. It would have been much more entertaining to receive my WSJ next week and stumble upon it :)

This is good news and all, but it just adds more credence to to the idea of changing the site name. This just screams for a free website plug, but can you ever see them saying "Ass" on Good Morning America? They certainly seem to have a problem with it over at Bloomberg...

It really does seem like our name is holding us back, at least on the free publicity side of things. I think we should have an official site-wide meeting (read: contest) in order to determine a new name for CAG.

Of course, if they do end up saying "ass" on GMA...

I don't want to get this site in trouble, so I won't archive the article, or make a screen capture.

But I think sharing a my own login shouldn't be a problem, right?

Worth a shot though, and congrats Cheapy.

I'm not using it, so I guess someone else is.

Ah well, at least I helped one person. :D

Thanks, I was was able to tread the article. I made sure to log out so someone else could read the article.

bah for those who aren't cheapy's mom

here's my dollar well spent...

also although you couldn't tell thanks to my shitty cutting, the photocredit is listed as www.cheapassgamer.com... so no censors at WSJ, they're a big people's newspaper!

eagerly awaiting a C&D from WSJ

also congrats for the potential GMA appearance

edit: finally read the article myself...there's sites dedicated to unboxing....who knew. needless to say if I ever produce anything it'll be spring loaded, so it'll eject itself once the box is open! Cause that would be totally awesome!

Cheapy is going to be on VH1 Best Week Ever.

Man, that's really the ultimate destination here, isn't it? Well, that or The Colbert Report. Seeing someone like Christian Finnegan riff on the whole 'box opening porn' angle would be surrealistically awesome.

Regardless, the GMA news is great. Cheers! Half the fun of hitting this site anymore is finding out the next place where you'll be showing up.

I was being facetious and meant if he kept doing unboxing videos, maybe he can get on all the networks.

Anyway, there goes to show you the power youtube and the Internets.

Why change the name? Just call it CAG instead of Cheap Ass Gamer. Too bad cag.com isn't available.

This is cool and all, but a shame CAG is sorta being swept under the rug in all this. Anyways enjoy your 15 minutes of internet fame CheapyD.

What's wrong with cheapyd.com?

Fools. He said in the podcast that the alternate site CheapGamer redirects to CAG so he's been using that one for 'real media'.

As for the article itself: I bet within the next week, we hear Wombat has landed an interview in Horse and Hound.
