#11699262 2014 Thrift Store Thread - Post your finds here!

Hey, I don't blame ya for paying that much on FF- I would have done the same. That was a highlight of my younger days when my cousin and I sat together working on beating it. Classic stuff!

I stopped out this afternoon, and the GW I went to had a few PS2 games- GTA SA, The Sims Castaways, DOA 2 Hardcore. I was tempted on the last two, but decided to not indulge. I did pick up GTA Vice City, which just so happened to have a bonus of GTA 3 in the case with it. The guy at the counter checked the disc, saw the two of them and just gave the "whatever" shrug.

I did have a copy of Leisure Suit Larry Collection in my hand, but I had him put it back. I figured that nostalgia was stronger than how well the games held up. Plus it ran on XP, and I don't think my laptop would have played it (but I know jack about PC gaming).

Those do not hold up well at all.

I've had a slow month so far, here are the only things I've picked up in the past couple of weeks.

med_gallery_350075_7875_194076.jpg

1994 Electronic Uno $1

The Hobbit $4

Beyblade (still sealed) $1.50

Force Unleashed II $2

SNES ASCII Pad $3

Final Fantasy Legend $6 (pricey for a GB game, but still a decent price)

The two puzzles I actually got at Kohl's for $3 each new, after using a $10 off coupon in the mail.

That Hobbit DVD is pretty hard to find, I think.

Especially with the new movies coming out, it was fetching a good amount of cash on eBay last year. Very nice find.

BTW--I'll give you $5 for it :)

HELL YES!

I am a big fan of LJ Hoes as well, he might end up being a keeper. If not, I'll still buy a jersey.

Hopefully we won't be as shitty for the next couple years.

BTW Reds--Pete deserves to get in the HOF. Bagwell and Biggio do as well.

I think you're just explaining hellhunde's joke here. Wish I appreciate because I didn't get it. Thank you.

I break it down for you.
Stiffy=boner.
The boner is the tip he would give the waitress because she gave him the boner.

If you don't know what a boner is, look it up on urban dictionary.

Only Cabrera, Votto and Trout had a better OBP last year. I'd say he was a huge part of their offense.

Thanks. I really didn't follow a whole lot last year, the Astros were what I like to call a train wreck. I did make it out to a game in Pittsburgh, but by not being in the NL Central, I didn't really pay attention to any of those teams.

It's too early to give up on any team, unless you are a Cubs or Marlins fan. Astros fans keep hope alive, we are a second half team.

DAMMIT! My wallet was finally recovering...

Wish I had some stuff to throw in, I been trading too much shit lately, but there's a good chance I will be bidding.

#11687983 GameStop TIV/Promo Thread XXIV: 30% extra toward select games, $40 for T...

Posted by burritoman on 14 April 2014 - 12:58 AM

And a piece of advice,

If you ever need a BIG favor about stacking, returns, special favors from grunt at gamestop, just say you'll preorder a game to make it up to them. I swear, thats such a sacred quid pro quo to them that they'll do ANYTHING youd like them to.. lmao.

I swear it works

I agree with this 100% They are much more likely to do stuff if you preorder, even more if you pay it off in full.

Works every time, when they don't want to stack promos or whatever. Last time I preordered 3 things, I thought the girl was gonna take me in the back for the special preorder bonus.

It's not too bad to open a DS lite. Getting it back together can be a pain in the ass.

But Sp00ge is right, check the battery first.

I bought one with the same issue on eBay, turns out it had a busted board, and I ended up destroying it anyways, but I got a few extra parts, except top screens if you need anything.

get ps4 or xb1 vers if u dont have em wait til u have enuough money 2 buy 1 they r the best vers out of em all.

I dont think you are pepsiman. Pepsiman usually does something fucking retarded and gets himself banned in an hour or two.

I do miss the Pepsiman though. That dude is a legend. I never met anyone who hated coke as much as him. Being anti drug is tough in today's world.

The Astros' game on Monday got a 0.0 TV rating. That's about as small market as you can get.

I watched it!

My dad did as well, so that means 2 people in the world did!

#11677398 Coaxial to A/V Converter?

Posted by burritoman on 09 April 2014 - 01:48 AM

The cheapest I honestly think is a VCR. Luckily it's yard sale season and you can find a decent Goodwill for a few dollars as well.

I'm not joking or anything. I was in that situation a few years ago, and a VCR was the best I could find. I was running my cable TV through a TV that had the coaxial jack broken off. It worked just fine for me.

It doesn't even have to play tapes, just as long as you can select the aux output, whatever comes in will go out that way.

Astros win #3!

Yes, I am celebrating, things are looking up this year.

I don't know what you're talking about. This is great.

The Astros won't contend this year, but they sure will surprise a hell of a lot of people. When George Springer gets called up, business will pick up in a hurry.

They are currently on pace to win 162 games!

George Springer should be the part of the machine that makes it all start to fall into place. He will help solidify a pretty decent young core. The team is going to remind me of the Bagwell, Biggio, Steve Finley, Ken Caminiti team from the early 90's. Hope they can keep all their good young guys this time.

I'm really just happy they didn't let the Yankees beat their ass at home for the first game of the year.

Heavy Rain was better than Beyond Two Souls, I think. I've replayed that game like ten times now either by myself or with others.

I just got heavy rain a few weeks ago, so I am pretty excited to play it.
