I was hoping that Evolve story would bridge the gap between Half Life 2 and Half Life 3. So sad now

#12083501 Windows Phone & Windows 8 Deal Thread

We are finally getting Terraria this Friday! I'll buy if it is under $5. Little worried how it will play on my phone. Not sure if the controls can be worse than PC version though.

Secrets and Treasure: The Lost Cities is also coming to WP. Not sure when though. If you're feeling lucky, some other regions have it available. It is a f2p Peggle like game, only much much worse. Not horrible for being free though.

Picking up Mass Effect thanks to Bing Rewards and Red Stripe.

There were a surprising large amount of people here that didn't like it. They seemed to have expected something else. Even I regretted my purchase after playing through the tutorial, but that quickly changed after starting the main game.

Put in $10. I've been buying a lot of bundles lately. Might have to start giving Humble a little bit on the sliders again.

I'll be shocked if this generation even lasts that long, but I expect Destiny sequels to be released.  Wouldn't be the best decision to release DLC expansions otherwise.

I think the old plan (without sequels) was to transfer the game to new generations if this generation didn't last 10 years. They already are connecting last gen and current gen by having the free digital upgrade. Even with the new games, I have a feeling that your characters will still be connected to each game. Whether you keep the same character, unlock bonuses for playing the previous games, or having to start completely fresh, I don't know.

At first look it sounds good, but think about the time you spend. You have to spend atleast 10 hours to get $1. Spend 10 hours + buy DLC to get $3.

Not worth it to me.

Head over to the Steam thread. Some of them spend over 10 hours idling for cards that end up be worth less than $1. We got it pretty good over here.

My rewards deposited a few months ago.

I fail to see the difference between this old and new site.

Rebate is up from 2%. Now you can get up to 10% back.

40GB install?

External hard drives are going to be necessity this generation.

Only if you want to keep everything downloaded at the same time. I uninstall games I don't play anymore. I know some people really want to keep everything though.

Don't feel too bad. I can't win them either.

I enjoy base-building and turtling in strategy games. Forcing me into combat before I've completed my "fortress" makes me anxious.

Same here. I want massive epic battles, not a few guys destroying everything because I'm building my base. When I played BFME2 with friends, we would either play 2 hours of base building or king of the hill dividing the map into 4ths so you could build peacefully in your territory. I think you had to hold the hill for something like 10 minutes straight, so if you wanted a chance you had to bring a massive army. Everybody else brings massive armies to counter attack and the whole thing is great.

#12052832 Steam Deals Thread V13 ~ Deus Ex Human Revolution DC $4.99 | Starpoint G...

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that I was able to use my Gamestop coupon in-store on the digital download version of SSFIVAE. Currently $7.49 online, I ended up paying $2.49 + tax. No hassle at all, in and out in 2 minutes. The employee looked up the game in the computer, rang it up, and manually entered the coupon code. Steam key shows up at the bottom of the receipt. Might be YMMV, but worth a shot for anyone who wants Sim City for a buck.

EDIT: The game actually registered as Ultra Street Fighter IV. So yeah, that's pretty nice.

I think all versions of SSF4 were changed to say Ultra in Steam library, but aren't actually Ultra version.

Games that MS hadn't made available for download for almost a decade. The "you're paying for XBL/PSN" angle is stupid as Fuck and should be outlawed.

I think it still works for PS3 PSN, but not for PS4, 360, or X1. Like saying a pile of dog shit outside my house isn't free because I pay taxes to live in this country.

Or you know, you could have started a new thread in an appropriate section.  This section is for deals, not discussions about using something you got in a deal 5 years ago.

Then get bitched at for not using search function?

Either make a new thread and get bitched at for not using search or actually use search, post in the thread already made, and get bitched at. Can never win.

Til November huh? Well that's good to know. When the news came out, I assumed it was effective immediately but if the game is untouched until November, I'm going to look at reviews and consider moving this up to the top of the backlog because I was a bit interested in it when it came out.

Any CAGs put a good amount of playing time into Ascend that can recommend it or not?

F2p that you can't play with friends don't usually do well.  Not exactly a bad game, but without friends, there is less motivation to grind through the pay wall (I believe in this game it is a boss that cannot be beaten without paid weapons or it is extremely difficulty.

I bit on Blood Dragon after hearing the near universal praise towards it. I'm about 30 minutes in and I'm not enjoying myself at all. The aiming seems a bit off and imprecise, and for a game that sets a tone for an ultra masculine 80's 'splosion porn, you sure do take damage insanely quickly.
I'm aware as I type this that I have predisposed expectations for the game, but as a huge Far Cry 3 fan it just doesn't feel nearly as fun or solid in terms of gameplay and control (not to mention that the health bars in no way reflect the tone that the game immediately sets).
The positives lie in its presentation and self-aware humor, which have given me more than a few good laughs.
Hope this unpopular opinion helps.

It is more about nostalgia. A lot of the references in the game are to older action movies. The gameplay itself goes back to older action movies.

Next time you play it, don't play it like FarCry 3. Play it like you put crack in every hole of your body. Run out in the middle of gunfire, jump around non-stop, never let go of the trigger even when out of bullets, yell out cheesy catchphrases, and use "pew pew" when you get a laser weapon. Couple other things to keep in mind...You kill death, it doesn't kill you. When enemies fire bullets at you, free breakfast. Blood Dragons are your best friends.
