#11972102 Amazon PC Deals: Red Faction Collection $5.99 - EA Sports Classics NHL 0...

I did ages ago. I'm anxiously awaiting my digital koala.

I've only just seen what this game is and I already know I need it in my life. I'd have to buy a USB dance pad too though.

I played this at Pax last year and it was a TON of fun, glad to see it is getting some love :).

Also, I just beat Second Son...so good. I cried a few times, that doesn't happen with games very often anymore.

Cheers,

Tony

Welp, my stay at home just got a lot better. Thanks for this link man.

Ack that sucks about the pneumonia. Get some rest and feel better soon.

I hadn't heard of Out There but it looks interesting so I've wishlisted it now.

Because I'm a cheapass I will probably need a sale or get back Amazon coins for purchase offer to motivate me to buy it. If only there were someone who could make that happen.

Thanks man :). Next time we fire up a Coins back campaign I'll be pushing hard to get this included/front and center.

Tony take care. I remember my cousin ended up with a Pneumonia too, though it got worse and she went to Hospital.

Greetings from Spain.

Hello Spain! They hooked me up with several breathing apparatus and I'm improving quickly. Although I brought Paddington out for a walk earlier and had to sit down after being outside for like 5 minutes. Some nice lady asked me if I needed assistance...I felt pathetic lol.

Cheers,
Tony

I'm glad we've started talking about choose your own adventure books, my favorite one was the Himalayan Mountain one, I think you were looking for a hidden temple or something.

Also, obligatory relevant App mention. Has anyone played "Out There"? Definitely has a strong CYOA feel.

Hope everyone had a killer weekend. I ended up coming down with Pneumonia on Saturday and have been stuck in bed since :(.

Cheers,

Tony

The downside (and the new place should know that there is a downside) of having someone like you is that when you move on, the next person needs to maintain the same level of commitment.  Otherwise, the organization you represent gets its reputation tarnished.  Also, the community suffers (as evidenced by the lack of direction in this thread) because that same level of support no longer exists.

I'm glad you mentioned this piece. One of the reasons I wanted to collect feedback like this from you all is to capture the good and the bad. Like multiple folks have mentioned, I feel like transparency has been really important to the health of this group and your direct feedback like this doesn't get any more transparent :).

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Tony

Thanks for the quick replies everyone, much appreciated. Also, you all rock. As a heads up I'm out of the office in a couple of hours for the rest of the weekend (music festival about a block from my house, wooo!).

I didn't want to just toss out that question and see all your super in depth replies, and not thank you for the effort.

Cheers,
Tony

That was a lot of hotdog talk.

I wanted to see if some of the contributors (or lurkers just waiting for the right time to contribute!) wouldn't mind doing me a favor. I mentioned a couple of days (maybe last week?) that I'm starting up the community conversation around the Appstore currently. The Android thread here will definitely be a part of it and once we kick off I'll be posting there more regularly as well.

I'm currently talking with another forum as well and I just had a call with them this morning. They were asking me what it means when I say "I'd like to join your community" and I realized it is really hard to describe what we built here.

I was hoping a few of you could post a quick "this is what having Tony around and posting on behalf of Amazon has been like" post and then I'd just send him this thread to look at.

Thoughts? If this sounds dumb I'm fine with just sending him the thread and letting him peruse it and learn about hotdogs, my marital status and how D hates DRM.

Cheers,

Tony

Adventure games like The Walking Dead and Wolf Among Us seem like good choices even though they're not MP, since a lot of it is just watching anyway. I guess stuff like Heavy Rain would work in the regard too; "interactive movies" if you want to call them that.

Ya we just beat WAU and each made a concerted effort to make different choices. It was definitely a super cool experience.

I have to say, I never thought sharing video games as an interest was important to me in a relationship, I do a ton of stuff outside of gaming and have always figured I'd end up in a "I get to game at night and when <insert SO name> is out of town>." having been with someone who I can game with now for a bit I can say I was completely mistaken. I'm likely going to ask her to be Mrs. T-Money in Feb/March 2015 (don't tell her!) and most of the times where I've thought to myself "ok, ya, this is definitely going to work out", have been in close proximity (either before/during/just after) playing a game together.

Cheers,
Tony

Well if you like Mario Kart there's the obvious recommendation for Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed.

This is a good call. I'm going to pick up a copy this weekend :).

Since you've played it, how did you like Pikmin 3? I recently bought Mario Kart 8, which comes with a free digital game, and was considering Pikmin. If you've tried it, would you recommend it for a purely solo experience?

I'm loving it, like I said Ashley and I are playing pass the remote and taking turns playing each day (or multiple days if I'm sucked into a game of League :) ). Absent her I would still enjoy the game, albeit not as much, I also chose it as my free MK8 game and haven't regretted it at all.

Cheers,

Tony

I forgot to ask, anyone here game with their significant other? My girlfriend and I have been tearing through games lately and I'm looking for another good Coop experience (or trade the controller, we loved doing that with Pikmin).

Thoughts? I've got a WiiU, PS4, XBONE and PC and we've recently beaten Lego: The Movie, Lego The Hobbit, Pikmin, Mario Kart (you don't beat it but we've unlocked almost everything), and Max: The Curse of Brotherhood.

Edit: Why so many thoughts?

Tony

I demand pics.

Fixed that for the whole internets.

Lol, I know there is video or pics floating around, my old neighbors took some. I'll have to see if I can get a hold of them.

Tony

Tony did you ever finish that giant gummy bear? Did you get the diabeetus?

Lol, I didn't even come close and I ended up throwing up what looked like a flowing fountain of Jello.

I liked it. I was pretty disappointed with the graphics on PS3, though--what were you playing it on?

I'm not a huge fan of FPS on console, simply because of the relatively poor controls versus m+kb. I just finished Killzone 2 over the weekend, and that's a good example. It took quite a while to get used to it. Destiny has really good controls and combat, though, and feels very natural to play. I think they did a good job on that part of it.

I wasn't a big fan of the constant enemy respawns. I guess that's an aspect of it being online play, but I don't like clearing a group of enemies, wandering slightly forward, then having them spawn again right behind me. With enemies that have ranged attacks, that's more than a bit annoying.

The leveling system seems interesting, both for the character and equipment. Drops are a bit low in frequency. I'm curious how much actual gameplay there will be. Finishing the quests in the beta only took 2-3 hours and I hit level 5 just as I got done. Since I'm not big on MP, the length of the quests is really what will factor into whether I get much gameplay out of it.

Odds are good I won't be playing this for a year or two until I get a PS4, but I'm definitely interested in picking it up eventually.

I'm playing on a PS4 but I'm buying my brother the PS3 version (until Christmas when I get him a PS4), I'll have to see what he thinks about the graphics too.

I love the normal vs. hard difficulty disparity, some of the missions felt like I was playing a different game.

Cheers,

Tony

WTH is Placeholder DRM?

The placeholder attribute specifies a short hint that describes the expected value of an input field.

That means... a DRM type should be there, but there is not yet.

I just sent over an IM to those guys about the DRM thing, looks like they are fixing. Not sure on the pricing thing but I agree it looks weird.

Tony

How easy/heard is it to get in on those deals?  I assume the best ones run out almost instantly

That might be the only reason I would ever get a Fire, but I hate that companies don't put SD card readers into tablets to try to screw people into paying more.

That's the main reason I'd never get a Fire or Nexus.

My wife has a Nook HD with a slot, and I finally got a working Sero Pro 7 refurb and they both have slots for SD cards.

I sit next to the guy who vets what goes on that ad slot (we call it the wakescreen by the way), I just stood up and asked him "Ian, don't we make sure that deals that show up on the Wakescreen don't run out?" his answer "yes, we've only had it happen once since I was here and we spent a lot of time root causing to make sure it doesn't happen again".

Hope that helps answer your question :).

#FakeCAG

It burns, the truth it burns! I like to think I'm like GiverCAG, whenever I find killer deals or good humble bundles I buy a bunch of them to give out to folks, rather than PersonalCAG who always looks for the best deal for himself.

I cannot afford a game that is not on a good discount.  I liked Borderlands 2 but not Halo, so... no idea if I would like that game, now you talk about.

Definitely fair points, I wasn't saying everyone in the thread should run out and buy it day one, just that I was going to be doing so :).

So you're saying the game makes you itchy? That doesn't sound too appealing to me =/

You don't know how much I love the relief of a good scratch, makes the itch worth it.

booo i like halo but not borderlands i want destiny on steam!! bungie do it for pc

I hope this ends up on PC too, I'd love to be able to play with some of my college friends, all of whom still game primarily on PC.

Cheers,

Tony
