Here's my haul. Decided to buy it in time for the destiny beta.
I could only get time to do this on the very last day of the sale, so I only had one day to max out my earnings. There are three microsoft stores in the Atlanta area. Had my girlfriend with me, so I needed a minimum of 30 games for both of us to be able to get this deal. Had enough gamestop credit to get ~35-40 $1-3 games with no money out of pocket, so that's what I ended up with, hoping there'd be at least one store to let us trade in more than 5 per person. Nope! But we still managed to hit all three stores, and the last one let us trade in our remaining extra games, but with the caveat that we'd only get what the actual trade in amount was, hence the few bucks in random gift card credit. Also used the 5% text coupon.
Made sure to get $50 on the gift card when I did it, and paid for all of the pre orders with cash so I wouldn't have any trouble canceling them. So around $303 in gift cards, now onto canceling the pre orders.
First store gave me my cash back, which I just used to pay for gas. Second store would only give it back in gift cards, hence the two $10 gift cards. Last store where I purchased the xbox just credited it off the top, which was nice because it took the $20 off before tax was calculated. Same for the 5% discount. So only 359.05 was taxed.
From one day of work (I guess two if you consider going back to the stores to cancel and buy the one) to get a brand new xbox one for $61.91
I certainly won't complain!
