CheapyD's $0.02 > I Ain't Mad about the Xbox One, Bro

Posted CheapyD on 26 June 2013 - 02:19 AM

Sorry guys, I ain’t mad about the Xbox One and I ain’t mad at Microsoft. Do I think Microsoft has screwed up plenty? Sure, however, I ain't mad. As someone who was rejected from two of America’s top business schools, I feel like I am in the perfect position to explain how everything went down.

The big three started revealing their plans for the 8th conso...

Disclaimer: This guide in no way, shape, or form is meant to insult, disgust, traumatize or inflict any mental or bodily harm to the reader (not on purpose, anyways) and is just a satirical observation on a fellow CAG member. If it does, then blame the tebowdragon. Any IQ points lost during the reading of this guide, or the subsequent search for proof o...

no658ea3's Blog > Why am I Hubert Joly?

Posted no658ea3 on 18 August 2015 - 06:41 AM

Hubert Joly, what comes to mind when you think of him?

Best Buy CEO, Renew Blue, or no658ea3? Well when I think of Hubert Joly I think of a CEO that has turned around a business and has made CAGs favorite retailer Best Buy. I have always wanted to write a bit about who I portray on this site and this is my chance.

Hubert Joly was born and raised in Fran...

Syntax Error's Blog > The Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar (Part 4 - Final)

Posted Syntax Error on 17 June 2015 - 04:36 AM

Welcome back to the final edition of the Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar. I only have five games left in the "49¢ or less" category and they're not going to play themselves -- although that would be supremely helpful. The batch last time was a chore but that means things can only be on an upswing, right? So set your Big Lots copy of Locating Zemo: A Non-D...

Syntax Error's Blog > The Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar (Part 1)

Posted Syntax Error on 14 June 2015 - 12:45 AM

If you've been a bargain oriented PC gamer, you've probably bought into the bundle thing. Humble, Bundlestars, Indie Gala, whatever -- you give them a few bucks, they give you four to ten games, 90% of which you didn't really care about. Sure, each game might average a quarter but most of them are just shrapnel picked up when you really wanted one or two...

Syntax Error's Blog > The Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar (Part 3)

Posted Syntax Error on 16 June 2015 - 05:20 AM

Welcome back to the Bottom Barrel Bargain Bazaar where everything is less than four bits. In this third installment, I continue to examine the games I paid cold cash for... but not more than 50¢ of it.

Just Cause
What it claimed to be: In Just Cause, you are a Latin field operative and specialist in regime change backed by top secret US government age...

Posted Syntax Error on 14 June 2015 - 08:48 PM

Hello and welcome back for more adventures among the discount bin of my Steam library. As mentioned in the first part , this series is dedicated to those games under 50¢ that I independently bought on Steam (versus getting them in a bundle). So crack open a can of off-brand soda and read on.

Temper Tantrum
What it claims to be: Take control of Johnny...

Spoony's Blog That Was > Super Tips for Steam Sale Newbies (and Vets)

So you're on Steam and you're really jealous of those folks who have hundreds of games in their libraries. Well, here's how you do it.
Steam Pro-tips
Set maximum per-game prices and minimum discount levels for yourself.
I suggest a max of $10 per game IF you're going to play it right away ($5 if you're really stingy, which you should be) and a mini...

Thanks to those of you "keeping the dream alive" with some really great lowballs over the past months.

I suppose I was gone for at least 3 months. Possibly a little closer to 4 based on activity. Sorry about that! Times were tough for awhile, and I'll go ahead with a brief recap and then let you all in on what I have going on currently and in the near fu...

Rozz's Blog > "Pixels" Is Another Adam Sandler Classic

Posted Rozz on 26 July 2015 - 11:32 PM

Adam Sandler has yet to put out or star in a bad movie and Pixels continues his tradition as the "funniest man alive". Every time I think that Hollywood has run out of original ideas or that the movie industry is dead this man comes out with another film that changes my mind completely and forces me to watch...

Blog-o-tron > 10 games I played this year and I'm glad I did

1. Portal 2 (PS3)
Although it's my second (third?) time playing it, it's still one of my favorite games of all time. Clever, funny, simple but fantastic co-op, an amazing finale - it does everything completely right. Valve on the other hand - STOP Fuck ING UP YOUR CO-OP SERVERS FOR PS3. You're making everyone nuts!

2. The Evil Within (PS4)

Rozz's Blog > Stickied Threads Are Overrated

Posted Rozz on 21 September 2015 - 11:17 PM

I'm glad they're gone.

You ever step in sticky gum and have it stick to your shoe? It ruins your entire day. Just another reason to hate sticky things.

The same type of people that throw their gum on the concrete and the ones that demand that their threads are stickied.

Just think about that and realize that we're better without the sticked threads.

Tyler's Contrabulous Fabtraption > E3 Wrap Up - Sony

Figure I better get the rest of these posted, as E3 becomes more and more of an afterthought. Previously you can read my takeaways from the Microsoft E3 Conference .

I thought Sony did the best of the big 3, but they all did well. Sony had better surprises, which is my favorite part of E3. The white PS4 was the first out-of-nowhere reveal and...

There are some experiences in life that are just miserable. Having to say goodbye to our family dog of 10 years provided me with one of my worst days.
Cheyenne was a rat terrier mix we adopted from a pound when she was about 2-years-old. My wife and I often wondered how she even got to a pound in the first place. She was a well-behaved dog that was a...

So as some of you may know, I recently had both my Xbox 360 console and my Xbox Live account permanently banned by Mircosoft during their recent wave of bans. Obviously it sucks, and I thought I'd share my story about the ban and how I feel about it.

The reason for my ban is basically a version of "Marketplace Theft", though I think that's kind of a fun...
