I spent the entirety of last weekend assembling my new personal computer. I had been collecting the various components for almost a month. There were several hiccups in this new case's construction, but I finally got everything together. Click on the image above to see the album of images.

Here are a few of the specifications for my new rig...

Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.5 Ghz Quad-core
Motherboard: MSI Z77-G45
RAM: 16 GB G-Skill DDR3 PC1600
Case: Raidmax Agusta ATX-605
Power Supply: Corsair HX750
Solid State Drive: Intel 180 GB 6GB-per-second Sata III
GPU: Sparkle GeForce GTX 660 2GB PCIExpress 3.0 16x (x2 + SLI)
CPU Cooler: Corsair Hydro H80i

So far I'm getting some really solid performance. The SSD in particular has made the most difference.

I tested Starcraft II and Civilization 5 this week. They run really well. Civ 5 in particular has benefited from the increase in power. Not only have the rendering and effects improved, but the processing of turns is drastically faster.

I'm going to install Aliens Vs. Predator next to test out some of the DirectX 11 features.
