Yes, this is true. I am officially the proud owner of one of the rarest "treasures" in gaming = The Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter edition. I attended the Chicago event at Muvico in Rosemont on Oct.6th.
The event was great! Uncharted definately deserves the silver screen treatment above all else. This game is going to be great. Definately going to show off the ps3s power. After talking to one of the naughty dog developers there he said although uncharted 2 does use 100% of the ps3s processing power, it doesnt mean that making a better looking game is not possible. He said all future naughty dog titles will use refined versions of the uncharted 2.0 engine until next generation (couldnt squeeze a word about jak&dax out of him). The event lasted 6hrs in the following format
1. registration/ freeplay
2. opening preview
3. 1st round of tournament play - Team deathmatch
4. giveaways (40 total copies of uncharted 2 1 week early, 2
sony headsets, a ps3 slim.)
5. exclusive single player preview
6. 2nd round of tournament - Elimination
7. more giveaways
8. 2nd exclusive single player preview
9. 3rd round of tournament - plunder
10. more giveaways
11. 3rd exclusive single player preview
12. 3rd place tournament match
13. more giveaways
14. championship match - Team Sark (my team) vs Team Drake in tdm on
a new map
15. awards presentation and final raffle
for the awards presentation 3rd place got autographed posters from naughty dog for uncharted 2. My team took 2nd and everyone on my team got autographed copies of uncharted 1. The 1st place team all got fortune hunter editions.
After presenting the awards for the tournament a drawing was held in which they gave away 3 more Fortune Hunter editions, one of which was won by myself
despite taking 2nd place in the tournament its pretty fricken sweet that I ended up walking away with both grand prizes. you will be seeing me in the next 3-4 weeks (how long it takes to ship the fortune hunter pack) with my exclusive multiplayer skins! if anyone wants to play with me then or on the beta hit me up on PSN: Cloudstorm1020
