Good Experience with XBOX live support

Well this is my first blog post, but I thought this was a good place to start.

I had my XBOX gold membership on auto-renew and it just triggered this month. I realized that it was full price coming off of my credit card but I could swear that I had that 40% off auto-renew promotion.

So I decided to do a live chat with a support representative who was very nice. She added a bit of friendly banter in when she was waiting for the system to refresh, etc. We ended up finding out that the 40% was for last years subscription and that I had already used it. So basically, I was mistaken and had no right to complain or anything like that. But just jokingly I asked her if she could apply a similar promo for the year I just paid for, just for being such a loyal customer.

She came back and said "Yes, I can do that for such loyal customer. Your credit card should get the difference refunded in the next day or so."

Crazy! I guess I caught someone on a good day. I just thought I would share my little story of how Microsoft (well, maybe not M$ but a rep) did something nice for me.

I think that's one of the first positive things I have heard from Xbox Live support. I thought the same thing when this subscription rolled around. I forgot to write things down, but it ended up being my bad and I got nailed for full price on the auto renew. I have since removed my credit card and purchased a few $30 12-month subscriptions for the coming years. Full price hurt.
There was a bit of a transition period there going from all India to a large percent American so it was a bit rough. The American staff handling live support has settled in now and they're trained in the manners department so things should only get better customer support wise moving forward.

You would think they would sorta put the word out the they "care" and are making improvements to customer service after all the shit they keep getting but souhpsgvfiknspouvn.
