Failout: New Lages?

Posted by Freemason, 26 October 2010 · 253 views

I LOVE Fallout. I played the shit out of Fallouts on the PC up to 3. I played the hell out of that on PC and then my 360. After about 20 hours on Vegas... I have had 14 system (360) lock ups exiting vendors or locations, several quest glitches, sever game lag at moments, jacked up physics and glitched NPC's. Just to name a few issues, there is also the whole LACK of Vegas. It seems to take so much questing and travel and pointless meandering, that unless you run the strict main storyline, it becomes an afterthought of the game and more of a time wasting side note location for which to end the story.

I still enjoy the exploration aspect and freedom to be who i want to be in it.. but is anyone else feeling a bit underwhelmed by this entry in the Fallout codex?

I hit a spot right after the last update that's causing my system to freeze every time I hit V.A.T.S. I was only about 4-5 hours in and restarted once already do to to bugs I've been running into, I just stopped playing till another update comes out.
I fell asleep after playing 30 minutes in. I don't like the fallout series, too boring for me.
I'm glad I got the PC version, it's not as buggy. There is only one quest that I cannot complete due to a glitch. Hopefully a few updates for the console versions will fix most problems.

As far as the game itself goes, I'm loving it!

I hope you didn't buy the game...
Well yea. Who didn't expect this? Bethesda didn't make it. However give it a few more weeks or a month and it'll probably be patched to playable. Me, I'll wait for all the DLC to come out before I buy it.
I guess I must be lucky. I'm 18hrs in to it and haven't experienced a major bug/glitch. Just the occasional fps hiccup.

I would suggest turning off the auto save features. Back when I was starting to play Fallout 3 I experienced some game-breaking bugs and remember reading that by turning off the auto save it would reduce or even eliminate many of the problems. Well, sure enough after restarting the campaign in FO3 with the auto save off I played through all the main game and all of the expansions without a problem.
In my entire Fallout 3 playtime, never glitched once, this one is killing me, Bethesda had a huge deal to do with the game and it was all based on the same tech and design tools.. I just don't get get companies sometimes.
i dont understand why some people are so upset about not being dumped into the city when the game firsts starts, its more of a slow burn kinda towards it. if you go to new vegas in the first few hours of gaming you will probably be stuck somewhere playing blackjack for hours on end not actually experiencing the outside. :L
not upset by it,but the way they incorporate it is asinine. For a storyline leading you there, it is weak at best. the characters are mostly absent or forgettable, and you are forced more into the wasteland to quest about than to take in the sights and sounds of the place it is in fact titles after. FO3 is not called FO: DC yet it plays a huge role in the story and the games overall presence. It provides a sense of place that Vegas simply does not.
