Child's Play 24 Hour Gaming Marathon - Starting - Saturday Dec. 4th 8AM CST

Posted by Freemason, 02 December 2010 · 387 views

Hey all, just wanting to drop a line and use this space as my hourly update to my 24 hour marathon coming up this Saturday. Starting at 8AM CST to Sunday 8AM CST I will be gaming for 24 hours straight with only 1 30 minute breaks to eat and restroom breaks as it deems needed. I have made sponsorships from work, online, and a few gaming communities to donate $1 per hour and another $1 if/when I complete the entire 24 hours for $25 total each. I will then be donating it all through this site into the raffle. If I win the raffle I will be donating the winnings to other Child's Play Centers In Iowa, South Dakota, and Oklahoma. ( more on that later )

Every few hours I will be updating this post with where I am at and on my facebook at www.facebook.com/insomniasaint and my twitter @insomniasaint so if you want to hop in and say hello, forward a donation, etc. I'd love to hear from ya to keep me awake. I am taking requests, challenges, etc during this time as well and will logged into XBL @ 8AM and running with it.

I am filtering my donations to Childrens Hospital of OU Medical to Sanford's Children's Hospital and to Children's Hospital Midwest. All three of these locations have had people close to me in them, or their children. I saw first hand kids playing gamecube, watching movies, and using our hobby as a healing method and as a thing of enjoyment during their time of pain and struggle.

One of the girls, Kelsey Moore, is after years of adversity now on the road to recovery after having a brain tumor removed through her left eye and left our friend, a single gaming dad we met through City of Heroes MMO, in hard times. Thanks to charity and caring hospitals, is recovering and she is on the way to a normal life as well. I am getting the OK from her and her dad, but she has posted her journey to recovery photos to share, so I will add those later.

So more to post later, I'll close with a donation list of the caring souls that will help make Christmas better for a few kids this year. Either by Time, Money, Gifts, Motivation, or Understanding these people have made a difference this year to me, gamers, and the Child's Play Organization.
