E3: PS3 Press Conference

The goods:

God of War III (but the trailer was underwhelming and coming next year)
Infamous (looks like a more gritty version of Mass Effect with those weird force powers)
Massive Action Game (MAG) - Wow, battles up to 256 PLAYERS ONLINE! WHOA.
Resistance 2
Rachet and Clank: Quest for Booty (gotta love that game title...Quest for Booty)
Little Big Planet
DC Universe Online (but wish it wasn't on SOE, they don't do a good job on MMO's)

So so:
PS3 Greatest Hits Lineup
Hype of Playstation Network and the TV Shows and Movies - they are way behind their competitor on this. (where's Netflix for PS3...aww too bad PS Fans)
Playstation Network Trophies (humm kinda like achievements for the 360)

Boy Sony did a good job this year.

More to come as it is still streaming.

Did I miss something but I saw nothing attractive for the PSP....oh wait

Oh wow... Resistance Retribution. Looks ok, wonder how long the battery will last.

One thing I'm noticing, not a lot of clapping going on for Sony.

Where's that price cut for PS2? PS3 80 Gig down to $399.99 well not to bad, but wish it was lower. Humm....still a bit expensive for my blood. Why consoles do not have 500 GB hard drives who knows. but...damn it, they only cost $70 at most places.

Sony's presser was alot better than I thought it would be. I thought the last subject they would want to bring up would be exclusives after FFXIII jumped ship. It might just be me, a non-PS3 owning guy, but there wasn't a whole lot that I really connected with game wise. Nothing that makes me want to go out and get one any time soon. Some of their games just felt soulless or something. I just can't find myself relating to almost anything they showed. But I'm not a online gamer so that could have something to do with it. That's not to say the games "SuXoR3d" or anything, just no connection.
I agree, I am not a PS3 owner yet, and there just wasn't enough to compel me to purchase a PS3. Even though I'm a HUGE MGS fan, having every single game (including imports and Original NES games), MGS4 isn't that big of a pull for me, maybe it's just that it's been such a long time since I've even played a stealth game. If Sony could have some really breathtaking, gotta have games, such as some that were on PS2 (ICO, Devil May Cry 1) then maybe then I'll get a PS3.
I love the MGS series too. I played the first 3 MGS games on the PS1 and PS2 and loved Snake Eater enough to call it one of my top 3 games of the PS2 era. But MGS4 isn't enough. I can't play anything online without wifi due to location issues and a lot of what I've seen for the PS3 has no single player gameplay at all. If MGS4 hits the 360 I'm set. No need for the PS3 for me if that happens. With the Wii and the 360 you can get a good idea where they are going software wise. Wii has the casual stuff and a few hardcore gamer games in between and the Xbox 360 has a little of everything. Sony on the other hand only seems to have war shooters and not too much else that can't already be found on the 360.
