Just submitted my first Vita game to Sony for review

Posted by Josh1billion, 26 October 2014 · 1481 views

Just completed my first Vita game, which is an enhanced port of my Android game. :) It's a puzzle game called Super Blackout.. 90 levels, level editor, random level generator, 18 graphics skins, etc. Took about three/four days of free time to port it and add a couple of features.

It'll be up in the PlayStation Mobile section of the Vita store if/when Sony gives it their stamp of approval. Not sure on the price, because mostly they choose the final retail price, but it'll probably be about a few bucks.

If this works out, I hope to develop some bigger, Vita-specific games. Probably a platformer or Metroidvania or something would be next. But we'll see how this process goes. :)

Wow, that's cool.  Good luck!

Thanks Danimal. :)

Sony reviews pretty quickly!  They already reviewed it today (< 24 hours after submission) and found a bug that I hadn't seen before.  I believe I have it fixed now and am doing some thorough testing to make sure.  On the bright side, this gave me the opportunity to implement one more small graphical improvement that I came across after the first submission.

edit: Back in the review queue, woot.

i would grab it, but for some reason you MUST BE ONLINE to play moble games now on the vita, what sucks is i paid for 3 of them back in jan and all worked off line, now none of them do

Very weird, I hadn't heard about that.  Are you sure it's not just those games?

Keep us posted.  If I had a Vita, I'd be in for one.

Looks like it just got approved!  The status now says "Preparing For Release". :D

I've been working tonight on an experiment for what might become my next Vita project, too.  Still way too early to say much about that, though.

Congratulations!  I have a friend who has a Vita; I'm going to tell him he needs to buy your game when it releases.

Sweet. :D

Good job!

one i cant remember the name the other is  Poker something  and neither work if im not online. They both worked off line when i got them. Went back last week to play them and a pop up screen said you must be online to play these games

Hmm.  Maybe if you try playing while you're online once, they'll work later offline?  Worth a shot in case it's something related to a DRM license check, but that's just a guess.  Unless it's system-wide with PS Mobile (which seems unlikely), the only other thing I can think of would be the developers releasing an update to make those games online-only for some reason.

Congrats!, if you happen to release a pc version I'd love to do a review / play for my youtube channel.

Funny you should mention it-- there is a PC version. ;) http://gamejolt.com/...mes/view/17349/

The Vita version is newer and so it has a few upgrades over the PC version, but otherwise it's the same game.
