Beyond Good and Evil Praise/Rant

Posted by Lugi, 25 March 2011 · 77 views

So I just got done beating Beyond Good and Evil HD. I really enjoyed the game. I thought it was super creative and everything they brought to the table was excellent. The flight/boat controls were spot on. I loved using the camera on the account of it was reminiscent of Pokemon Snap which made it nostalgic. As well, the entire time I thought I was playing a Rare game that was reskined from the N64.

The end boss battle was incredible satisfying (Even more so than Mass Effect 2 which I also just recently finished up)

Apart from the sometimes odd camera angles and Jade not going where I want her to go, this game was almost perfect. The Sci-Fi type world really enticed me. The only thing I could compare it to is when your dropped off in the world of half life 2. Jade sort of resembles Alex too... That's a good way to put this game. A rated E, Ubisoft, Half Life. I highly suggest picking it up for the crazy low price of $10.

Now, I do not know why I assumed this, but there is not an open world section after you finish the game. It is just, the end. Leaving three achievements unlocked and ( stupid me again ) with only one save. I was so caught up in the game that I forgot about a silly thing like that. It shows how caught up in the game I was.

So there's my little rant about forgetting to make a god damn save and now its 10 hours of game play 55G.

Guess it is going to stay on my undone list looking at Fallout 3 where I didn't give the Steel Ignots back in groups of ten so it glitched out.

/rant praise over

Buy the game make a save before you go to space.

How did you feel about the stealth sequences? I heard they weren't super great.
I thought the game was great. Eric, the stealth can be tough, but really it's mostly the camera angles (like most action games) that make the stealth hard. You have to play with it sometimes to make sure you really are hidden. I think it works well though.

Thanks for the save reminder. I am about 5 hours in at this point. I'll make a separate save.
Yeah I agree - The stealth while it did get slightly dry - works excellently.

NP. Thank for reading.
