Gaming Revelations? A new lease on gaming?

Posted by SugarDuddy, 09 September 2008 · 215 views

So my Xbox has red ringed. This is two that I've gone through now. So in the time between it dying and my replacement unit's arrival, I've focused my gaming towards my PS3. Now, I've been a PS3 hater with everyone else. I'd ask my self why do I even have one? My dad used it as a Blu-Ray player, I occasionally used it to play Street Fighter Anniversary Collection. Then Metal Gear 4 came out, and I played it like it was my first time ever playing video games ever. But yeah, back on to my main train of thought. I've been playing games on my PS3 a lot more now. Which means I've gone out and purchased a few games to tie me over. And I got to realizing that the only reason I don't really "enjoy" my PS3 is because all the games that are on it are also on the Xbox. So why would I only play games exclusively on my Xbox? I did some thinking and realized that it was because of those goddamn achievement points. It made playing games that much more fun for me. So I've come to a conclusion. I need to play games for the sake of enjoying them, not because they will give me nerd points. So my new plan, my new lease on gaming, is to try and make my PS3 my main gaming system, so that I can "enjoy" games for what they really are and not worry about "throwing x amount of dudes y amount of times for z amount of points". I'm really thinking the only games that will be purchased for my Xbox will be the Xbox Live Multiplayer games that my friends have/will have so that I can play with them. Otherwise, my PS3 will be my main pal.

If anyone reads this please let me know if it sounds like I'm hitting a target here. Or if perhaps I'm just an annoyed Xbox gamer with a RROD on their hands.

Meh, you'll start collecting Trophies on your PS3 eventually (when Sony gets around to utilizing them eventually...)

I say stick with the 360 :P
I probably had more fun with my RRoD 360 than my PS3 lol
I know what you mean, I only have six PS3 games and about 25 360 games. I would always compare the two and get the 360 because of the xbl feature and the points. The only exception was DMC4 as I have the first 3 on the ps2. I've tried my hardest to play my ps3 the most but I loath those load times and then the install times...:bomb:
Maybe it might just be me not having joined the 360 party yet, but I don't see the big deal behind nerd points.
