Momoko Girls Love Ys

Posted by Chuplayer, 13 February 2011 · 414 views

Ys is a video game series from Japan that dates back to the late 1980s. It's an action RPG series known for its unique combat systems and keen sense of adventure. It is rather popular in Japan, but it is mostly unheard of elsewhere in the world. Up until last year, Ys releases outside Japan have been few and far between. Last summer XSeed games began bringing Playstation Portable versions of Ys games to America in grandiose fashion. Included in the special edition release of Ys Seven is a map that encompasses the entire world of Ys. My Momoko girls spend some time reminiscing the adventures with this map.

Sammy, Valerie, and Donna explore the continents on the map.

They all lounge around Romn. It's depicted as the center of the world in this map. Sammy has a particular fondness for The Alp because it's rumored that's where Felghana is. Felghana, Dogi's hometown, is featured in the third Ys game, her favorite. Valerie is relaxed next to Altago on the Afroca continent. She likes the latest and greatest game, and it takes place in Altago. Donna's just taking in the whole Eresia continent.

Sammy's now surveying The Vortex of Canaan. It is a very dangerous region that will suck you in and won't let you go if you're not careful!

Donna chuckles while Sammy acts out her inner cowgirl on Valerie. Sammy wants to explore all the lands of Ys!

LordVila, you never disappoint.
Thanks for the details on Ys.
No problem, RabbitSuit. It's a really good series from what I've played so far.
Dat Chuplayer, keeping me sane.
I agree with zenprime. Sometimes I think I'm losing it and or going insane, but then I look at the dolls and its all good again. Thanks Chuplayer your my hero!
zenprime, glad to be of assistance.

jman, you, too.
I'm going to look for my sisters barbies and make the nastiest most explicit doll blog worthy enough to get erased by a mod. Then Doll blogs will be banned.

um I am going to ask a question...you dont have to answer it...

How much do you weigh ?
Lol^
Chewbacca, only about a quarter as much as your mom.

AlexLeSage, *high five*
Have you played the other Ys games? I have The Oath in Felghana, and want to pick up Ys Seven, but then I saw Ys I & II are being released on PSP soon. I'm wondering if I need to play them in any kind of order...
What is Y's anyways? Is it some Japan-only game?
gravel, I'm currently playing Ys Seven right now. I like it a lot! The ones I've played to completion...

Ys Book I&II for Turbo CD (on Wii Virtual Console)
Ys: The Oath In Felghana for PSP
Ys: The Ark Of Napishtim for PS2 (I heard the PSP version has long load times)

You don't necessarily need to play the games in order. The Ys I&II Chronicles game is a remake of the older Ys I&II games, just as Oath In Felghana is a remake of Ys III. I finished Ys: The Ark Of Napishtim just a few days ago, and it's pretty much Ys 6, so there are some references to it in Ys Seven. However, it's not necessary to play it before you start Ys Seven.

Alex, it's been historically mostly Japan-only. However, PSP versions have been coming out in America recently. Konami also dabbled in Ys: The Ark Of Napishtim, bringing the PS2 and PSP versions to America back in 2005, but it must not have been successful enough to justify bringing out any more games. I didn't even know it existed, so maybe they needed to do some more advertising.
