Dear USPS, FUCK YOU

Posted by bardockkun, 03 March 2011 · 879 views

Long story short, got the last half of my GoHastings order today. Problem was it had nothing in it and in fact was torn and open and stamped with RECEIVED UNSEALED and RECEIVED WITHOUT CONTENTS.

Spoiler

So thanks USPS. Called GoHastings and they said they'd refund my order. So hopefully they'll pull through, if not, I'm tempted to e-mail them as well just to drive it home.

happened to me before too. you could try to go to your local post office to file a lost item report. i did that, but all i got was waiting in line for half an hour, after which i was told i was at teh wrong post office (i'm on the border of two area codes), and i had to go to another. i filed my lost item report there, and asked waht were the chances of them finding the item. they said "it depends" which basically transfers to "we won't ever find it."
Yeah, I can already assume they're not going to find shit since it was 8 CD's in there and 2 DVD's and 1 Blu. So unless it'll get me another free shipping code or whatever I'm not going to bother. Just pissed now.
If it makes you feel better, CNN has a story up today about them facing billions in debt this year.
Billions? Oh man. And sorry about your situation bardockkun.
I have to agree with OP; USPS fucking sucks. It always takes forever to get anything, and half the time the packaging looks like it's been through hell. Not only that, the tracking system they have is basic that you might as well just guess when your item is going to show up.
Sorry to hear that bud. I live on a busy corner and my mailbox almost hangs into the streets. One time I had a package coming with $100 worth of PS1 games (Chrono Cross, Vagrant Story, Bushido Blade, ect.) Instead of taking 30 second to get out of their truck and put it at my front door, my mail carrier decided to just leave it under my mailbox, 6 inches from 40 mph traffic. Not cool at all.
dont plan on getting much, gohastings cs is a joke.
So um, why did they send it then? If it was empty shouldn't they have contacted the person who shipped it?

This has never happened to me. Granted some of my magazines get a little mangled in the machines but at least they don't lose/break packages as much as UPS.
yeah never happend to me either....but then again..the same office workers and postman have been here for nearl 15 years respectively.

Sorry to hear about that.
My books were recently lost in Memphis, TN, from GoHastings. It arrived with a stamp that it was damaged during handling, was missing 5 books (Art of Halo and a bunch of X-men stuff), and it had a signed community college book they probably just randomly stuffed in there.

I should check if GoHastings refunded me, though I don't know if they would.
I have those socks!!
This kinda happened to me, not the missing merch, but half of my gohastings is missing.
Right.

It makes perfect sense to blame the carrier instead of the company responsible for poorly packaging the shipment.

They should have been extra careful with your package out of the millions that they distribute daily.
Antlp89 has clearly never had USPS Fuck his shit up royally. Or maybe he/she just works for them. Packaging may be a fraction of the problem, but the majority is USPS doesn't give two shits about how they handle packages. I've seen boxes kicked, thrown, and straight dropped.

USPS should be allowed to either go under/dissolved or be separated and run as a consumer centric business ala UPS or Fed Ex. No bailout BS.

That would be the optimal solution, however, it'll never happen. Just as with the housing lenders, there will be people crying that they are "too big" to let fail, and nothing will get resolved.

As for the blogger.. been there, feel your pain man.
Love the title!
Post this on twitter, facebook, youtube. Get this out there as much as you can. That's bullshit. It's pretty obviously someone stole your package and then USPS covered their ass to not have to pay for it.
