What's the longest you've ever taken to finish a game?

What I mean is, what is the longest you've ever taken to beat the main story of a game on the same save?

Last year in July I started BioShock but was quickly side-tracked by my then L4D obsession. A couple of weeks ago, I picked it back up, and rather than start a new game, I picked up where I left off over a year ago. I'll likely finish it in the next couple days.

So, with that being said, what's your longest?

I don't really know because I don't normally keep track of it but Peace Walker took me 34 hours to finish the story... well the main story that is. I thought that was pretty damn impressive being a PSP game.
I picked up FFXII one summer but couldn't finish it, so it got pushed aside and stayed there until over 2 years later when I finally graduated and had some free time while looking for work. The playthough itself took over 160 hours, too.
Rogue Galaxy took me 80 hours to beat.
Hmmm... Since I would always start games as a kid (honestly, I guess I did this up until last year or so) and never finish them, my answers may not be fair. But...

For sure, I can say that Super Mario Bros. on the NES is probably the longest game I have that I have never completed. I played that, probably around 20 years ago and have still have never played it to the end.

Aside from that, I have several games that I started around 1995-1997 or so that I have been finishing up recently.

As far as actual hours put into a game, I really have no clue. I don't play games that are very long, i.e. RPGs, so I would say 20 hours or so is the longest I have put into a game.
Rouge Galaxy is still in my I need to finish that pile....I think the last time I picked it up was last jan....

Don't know why I haven't gotten back to it I really liked the game and story
I was able to beat Lost Odyysey at about 84 hours. This has to be my longest game. However, this is because I was doing side quests too.
I started Mass Effect the day it came out. I finished with the same save in May 2009.
Mass Effect took me nearly 50 hours exploring every planet and doing every side mission. I enjoyed every minute of it, yes even the Mako driving. That was only for a single "paragon" play through. If I had done a renegade quest as well it would have been closer to 100 hours.
All my games take forever to beat. I just beat Fable 2 and I started sometime last year don't even ask me about Assassins Creed 1 and I have AC2 sitting there waiting.
18 months for me. Lost Odyssey. I finished the first 2 discs within a week of it coming out. Then I got distracted with other stuff and just kind of forgot about it. About a year and a half later... 1100/1100 ;)

I think my end time in game was like 95-100 hrs. I cannot remember exactly.
When I was younger I think I sunk about 120 Hours in Final Fantasy VII over about 3 weeks. I leveled all characters to 99 and defeated both Ultimate Bosses.
7 months for GTA San Andreas. That game had sooo much stuff to do, especially for 100%.
I had 220 hours for oblivion with all the dlc and shivering isles. I think I sank 50 hours before I even opened the first gate.
I had a save in the original Battletech on my old Amiga 500 for several years before I went back and finished it.
When I was a kid I would rent games and sometimes I didn't get the chance to beat them, so I have a few that are pushing the 20year mark.

Pokemon Red and Yellow are sitting in a box in my closet still waiting for me to defeat the Elite Four.

The more recent game would have to be Zelda: Twilight Princess, release date purchase and just lost interest. I made it to the Goron village and stopped playing. Doubt I'll ever go back to it.
Baldurs Gate 2. Started it when it came out back in 2000 and finished it last year.
Still working on Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I'll keep you posted!
It took me 1342hours to finish the main story of DQIX.
I started playing Final Fantasy Tactics A2 in the summer of 2009 and still pretend that I'm going to beat it eventually.
