How to be productive? How to stay on-track?

Posted by david12795, 12 July 2012 · 147 views

So yeah, currently finishing up my 2nd year of college, going onto my 3rd year. Thinking about double majoring in biology (currently a psych major). Moved to out of home for school. Been MIA these past few months. Now I am just doing night classes back @ home, which I have every day of the week

Any tips on being productive? Whenever I study, i find myself distracted. I'd get the work done, maybe not as efficient as I expect.
Also, how do you guys manage your busy schedule around? I'm only doing 2 classes in 6 weeks and it feels more busy than I thought (perhaps because its 6 weeks; 2 times a week?)

Use a calendar, I used Google's and it helped me sort out my class work.

As for distractions, hm. I suppose that could be a deep subject to talk about. I guess just discipline yourself, and always remember how much money is on the line. I find that textbook reading is easier to do in short bursts in between something fun, though my major is concerned with figuring out how to make code work and that's much harder to predict.

I assume Psych/Bio is a lot of reading, though. So find something to stimulate you every chapter or every 20 minutes. This helps retain the information as well.
So you're having trouble staying on track, and now you want to double major lol? Double majoring always sounded like a bad idea to me, and I ahven't known anyone where it worked out well for them. Double major=no life, no free time.

If your distracted while studying, prolly means your studying too much. I'm about to be a junior, and I've never studied once in my college career. Just review the core material in class and move on.

College is more about experience and less about the crap they teach from some old ass books. This is your last bastion of freedom before you join the career force, enjoy it.
Old school approach - study in the library
new school approach- stimulants
You think that's a busy schedule? Wait till you have to work a whole 40 hours or more a week when you get a job. I wish I was back in college....

Leave the cell phone and laptop at home and go study somewhere quiet.
Get off CAG
turn off the computer and tv and ipod.
push yourself, keep at it, it will be over and ur like wow that was fast
I made it through by forcing myself to study/ do homework at the school library
