2014 Gaming Aspirations

Console Gaming JRPGs 2014 PS3 360
As I close the doors on 2013, I find myself at the brink of a new gaming year. So much has happened those 365 days of yesteryear that playing video games took quite the backseat to other endeavors. Who would have known that getting into a serious relationship would take up so much of my spare time. No more late nights with Jameson on ice, and a Netflix movie whilst I save the world. More so, it became late nights playing with a 5 year old and watching movies with the girlfriend. Then, in a flash, the girlfriend became the fiance, extra cash went towards saving for a wedding, a honeymoon, and the closing for a home. Coworkers were let go, and my workdays grew longer, and all spare time was lost.

Then something happened. Little by little, things seemed to relax and I found myself at home more often and able to play a few hours here and there. Work was a little better and less stressful and I was home at the normal time. I was actually able to sit and play my PS3 or my 360 instead of sneaking in some playtime in the bathroom at work or while visiting people.

Like the clouds opening and heavens shining down upon me, the (US) holidays appeared in the distance. Thanksgiving allowed for some time, but Christmas was where the golden playing time would be. As it was the first Christmas my fiance and I shared together, I took a little extra time off. This meant an awesome amount of evening gaming as everyone went to bed early. Though I didn't officially beat "Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch" until January 1st, I was able to put in 50+ hours of wonderful JRPG gaming.

Thought the list was small, in 2013 I completed:

Chrono Trigger :vita:
Final Fantasy 4 :vita:
Final Fantasy 6 :vita:
Final Fantasy 7 :vita:
Gears of War: Judgement :360:

Not impressive at all, I know. Other than Final Fantasy 8 :vita: , and Ni No Kuni, I didn't put much time into many games at all. Most of my gaming was on my PS Vita and in the bathroom.

So, I haven't completed Ni No Kuni, but I can add it to the beaten pile and mark it as #1 for 2014. My goal for 2014 is to beat/complete at least 10 games. Here are the contestants on the Cloyd's Beat/Complete Goals for 2014!!! (Yes, it's pretty JRPG heavy)

Complete the rest of Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch :ps3:
Complete the Rest of Tales of Vesperia :360:
Complete the rest of Final Fantasy 14 :ps3:
Final Fantasy 14-2 :ps3:
Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2 :ps3:
Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory :ps3:
Heavy Rain :ps3:
Record of the Argarest War 2 :ps3:
Ar tonelico Qoga: Knell of Ar Ciel :ps3:
Star Ocean: The Last Hope (International) :ps3:
Bayonetta :360:
Final Fantasy X/X-2 in HD :ps3:

I don't think this list is unheard of. Not to mention games like LittleBigPlanet Racing with my future Step-Son. I bought a second controller for he and I to play games together on my PS3, and 360. Though there will be times that gaming will be put aside for more important issues, like my present, and future family, but the evenings will be mine. And even more so awesome if all goes well and it will be from the warmth of my (Lord, I pray) new home.

I love my evening gaming and I'm thankful for a loving, and understanding fiance that doesn't complain to me about my gaming...mostly because she's an Anime nerd and will watch episode after episode of anime series and all, but forget I'm there.

So, all the best for you fine folks here at cheapassgamer.com and may your 2014 list of games be completed, and then some!
