My initial impressions on the PS3 version of Bayonetta

Pros:
- Everything in-game is in English with four other subtitle options: French, German, Italian, and Spanish
- Lots of techniques to unlock
- Features a shooting mini-game after every chapter where you can earn points to buy items or exchange for Halos (currency)
- Intriguing characters, intriguing story - fighting the good guys, AKA people from Heaven is a new take on things... Angel May Cry!
- Nice visuals, some great character models
- Lots of hidden stuff in between stages, including extra stages/challenges

Cons:
- Minor screen tearing
- Frame rate is all over the place at times (especially the falling clock tower sequence), but for the most part it's buttery smooth... just not at 60 fps.
- Textures aren't up to snuff compared to the 360 version, but there are some good looking spots.

Overall, I am very impressed. The gameplay is fast-paced and really enjoyable, it's very rare for action games of this caliber to come out, so I applaud PlatinumGames and Sega for their efforts. If you've got a PS3 only, get it since it's perfectly playable. If you've got access to both PS3 and 360, then get it on 360 for the full potential of the game.

Great mini-review. I'll keep my eye out for this!
I'll keep an eye on this one, too. However, I still wonder if this game will sell; especially with the strong Winter 2010 releases.
Bayonetta is releasing on the same month as Mass Effect 2 and MAG, so it has competition on both platforms. I'm not sure how it'll do now, but I hope it sells well because it's an excellent action game by the creator of Devil May Cry.
I saw this on my break today and watched the demo play through for a bit. Looks interesting and also interesting to know that it is in English! May grab it for 360 someday when I find it cheap...
I played the demo, and liked it but then again I knew I was getting this from the first day I saw her and heard it was like DMC. I'm getting on 360 though
Just tried the demo. I thought it was great. Now the question is should I import it or wait on the u.s release. xD
^^
that is my dilemma as well.
I was going to import it but since it comes out Jan. 5 i'd much rather wait and save $20. It's good to hear there aren't any major issues with the PS3 version so far.
Wow, they even have the "converted by Sega" bit on the back of the box. Platinum Games REALLY doesn't want people to think that they were in charge of the PS3 version.
