I spend more time looking for deals on CAG, than I do gaming.

This is freakin' insane. For some reason, I can't resist ANY good deal; whether it's only an "okay" game or not. I still play games on a day-to-day basis, but I still spend the majority of my free time (after work of course) looking for deals on CAG, or wheelin' and dealin' trades with other CAGs. It's just so addicting.

I probably need an intervention. I think it's because I've got lots of money to blow, but I'm still a cheap ass when it comes to games (and pretty much anything else, really).

My backlog of games keeps on growing and growing, and I honestly don't know when I'll get around to playing some of them.

You aren't alone. I do the same shit, spending more time looking for cheap games than playing the cheap games I already got. I'm slowly easing out of it, though.

I think most of us CAGs do. I don't necessarily spend all of my time just looking for deals but also browsing the forums A LOT!!

It took me about 3 years to realized that my backlog, thanks to CAG, was too great for me to conquer. I sold, or gave to friends, most of my backlog that I knew I would never play, and have been happy ever since.

I no longer jump on deals unless I have a "slot" open in my gaming rotation. Granted, I don't really collect games anymore, just keep the ones I play often or want to play again, so that might have something to do with it as well.

I wish I could do that, blackjaw, but the temptation... oh I'm just so weak. >_<

I can't resist a nice deal. Also, it doesn't help that I like collecting games, too. If I had gamer family members, then I would easily be lending my games to them, but alas -- no gamer family members.

This is me. I get a lot of satisfaction in finding a good deal and adding it to the games I already have. However, I have also been trying to be a bit more smart about things. A $20 game that I would really enjoy is better than two $10 games that I will probably not play a whole lot. It's hard, but I am trying to make better decisions and pass up games or wait for an even lower price.

How time-consuming can it possibly be? I check the first page or two of the Deals section, two or three times a day and then I'm out.

Maybe it's just because I don't have much disposable cash that I don't have a massive backlog of games? I don't know. I just don't seem to have the same dilemma that a lot of people on here do.

I'm becoming less like this though every day since sorting my games and taking to the time put them on shelves. I try to spend my time on here just mostly in discussion threads and blogs, to avoid a massive hemorrhaging of my wallet. I've even sadly given up on guides as well other than a select few.

I started coming here from SD, and just to find the best deal on a game I was looking for. Then I started to get caught up in the mindset of "Hey, how bad can it be for $10?". But now I'm going back to just looking for the best deal on something I really want, or buying some games that got decent reviews but I wouldn't buy until they drop to a good price. Buying "crap" because it's cheap isn't a deal, it's still cheap "crap".

I enjoy reading the blogs and the forums too.

The funny thing is, I'm (happily) in the situation where I dont really *need* CAG. I can actually afford to buy the games I want when I want to play them. However, I too have been bitten by the CAG-bug. I've bought a whole lot of games that I know I wont play.

Fortunately, GS keeps coming up with trade in deals so everytime they have a new *good* one (like the current Wii one) I use it as an excuse to straighten up the backlog a bit. The only problem with that is I've amassed a ton of credit @ GS so it gets real easy to want to get in on the various deals the pop up like the GameDays and B2G1s.

And while I havent made much progress on the existing backlog, I am doing a better job of putting newly acquired games to the front of the queue and playing those quick. So while I still buy games, I'm at least not *adding* to the backlog.

At least that's my rationalization.

I am exactly the same way, started ever since I joined a couple years ago.

I keep anything I do(sex, eating, spending, drinking, toking, etc) in moderation that's the key.

Yeah, I have a pretty big back log also Like 6 unopened games much less the ones I have started and put down... Epic fail for me
