Is your Animal Crossing: Wild World house looking a little sparse? This weekend, Toys 'r Us stores will be beaming out exclusive items to wireless-ready Nintendo DS systems sitting in Tag Mode.

During what Toys 'r Us is declaring July 23 through July 29 "Free Download Week." During this time, Nintendo DS Download Stations at all Toys "R" Us stores nationwide will let fans download exclusive Mario-themed items.

By setting your system in "Tag Mode," you'll be able to score items such as the 1-up mushroom, star, fire bar, goal flag, question box and pipe. These items can then be displayed in any Animal Crossing. They also can be given away or sold at Tom Nook's, but keep in mind that these items can't be purchased in-game. So if you dispose of the items, good luck trying to get them back.

For those not in the know when it comes to Animal Crossing: Wild World, this Nintendo DS game is a "life sim" where you can live out your days in a virtual village with animal creatures as your next door neighbor. You have free reign in this town: fish, dig for fossils, harvest fruit, and customize your living space with personalized artwork and collectible furniture. The game earned a review score of an 8.8 (Great!) on IGN, as well as an Editors' Choice award when it was released in December 2005.
