Aside from the overwhelming (and largely expected) finding that the majority of people (59.82% to be exact) really want to drive the Batmobile in a future Batman game, it appears that new villains such as Hugo Strange and Mr. Freeze couldn't steal the spotlight from everyone's favourite Arkham City psychopath Joker, with the 'Clown Prince of Crime' dominating our favourite villain poll, with 49.74% of the vote.
Surprisingly, when asked which villain they'd most like to see appear in the next Batman game, the largest portion of votes (37.66%) went to Red Hood, who in his most recent incarnation is a vigilante character whose secret identity is that of Jason Todd, a former Robin that was killed by the Joker and later resurrected. He is a lot like Batman, brandishing his own kind of street-justice, only they differ in a very crucial way - Red Hood uses lethal force, which is something Batman won't stand for. The second most voted villain was Hush, with 24.19% of IGN's audience wanting to see him take on the Dark Knight, followed by Black Mask, with 21.28% of the vote.
Another interesting finding was that 51.49% of voters think it's going to be pretty difficult for any other game to top Batman: Arkham City on their personal 'Game of the Year' lists. In a year with heavy hitters like Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Dark Souls and Zelda: Skyward Sword, it seems that Bat-fans are pretty hardcore! Mind you, more than a third of the voters (37.74%) said they're keeping their options open until they play everything.
In terms of Arkham City's ending, most people were extremely satisfied, with 56.73% of voters saying it was fantastic. Not everyone was happy though, with 18.37% voting that they were disappointed, while 24.9% said they weren't sure yet, and need to let it sink in a little more.
So there you have it! The people have spoken. It seems IGN's readers can't get enough of Batman and are already amping up for another game in the series. We can't say that we blame them. So where do you think the Batman storyline will go if there's another game? Which Batman stories do you think it could be inspired by? Speculate away in our comments section!
