My family are console gamers primarily.

The PS 4 is gorgeous. The graphic and processor capabilities are well done for fast loading and it plays well. No, it's not as pretty as my husband's gaming laptop, but for a console? It's the best I've seen and it cost a lot less too.
Set up is just as easy as the PS3.
The included controller is really nice. Easily as good as the expensive controllers that we bought for the PS3 and I love that it came included. Battery life is less stellar, but it's playable while charging.

The games- Little Big Planet 3 is a download game. Setting up with the Playstation network is easy if you haven't done it in the past. If you have done it, just log in with your usual login. My daughter enjoys it somewhat, and I love the crafty/cute look of it but the primary reason we picked this bundle is the Batman game.

Lego Batman 3! The Lego games are very kid friendly. My daughter started playing them with Lego Star Wars when she was about 11. She's a young adult now and still loves them. They are kid friendly, but with humor and details that will appeal to adult franchise fans. For example this game has a lot of characters and jokes that you'll understand if you're a Batman or comic geek but that might be lost on some kids. Burt Ward and Adam West are both characters in the game, there are characters such as Lobo who is marketed more for adults than kids (originally a parody of Wolverine, he's got his own following now), all sorts of things to unlock. As a long time Dick Grayson fan, I'm tickled by Nightwing variations. Going from Adam West in the 60s, to Lynda Carter's Wonder Woman, the old WW theme song is part of the soundtrack.
If you've been a fan of the Lego licensed games, this plays generally the same way. Collect pieces, build things, role playing and lots of maps. It's really attractive. Lots of details and beautiful backgrounds. The same kind of humor that's in the other games as well.
I'm so glad that this bundle was available. My daughter has been actively following news about the Batman 3 game for months, so this is the perfect bundle for her.

I was worried about the Slowney network, but they have come a long way from when I first got my PS3 in 2009. Made a lot of changes in O/S: downloading game updates and upgrades in the background is a good thing. I went with the PS4 as I have been an Xbox guy for a long time. I turn away from them because they didn't have as much horsepower and I saw a lot of games that wouldn't run in full 1080p (which the PS4 does all day long). Also Xbox just seems to be moving towards a home entertainment system with a lot of social interconnects. I really wanted a console, made for playing games and watching blu-rays. Load time on games is a bit long for what I would like, but the visual and audio is worth the wait in my opinion. I picked this bundle for the price and for getting two games that my kid liked. I've already bought several racing/fighting games, love it!!!

Disc Drive broken out of the box

There is a problem with some PS4 BR drives. I missed it when I was looking into buying one. Out of the box, this had a problem with ejecting discs without being told. This leads to games being ejected onto the floor while the system is asleep. The "fix" is to power the system down entirely. This is temporary. I am currently awaiting a box to return my system to PS in hopes of having the problem fixed.

Additionally, the box it was delivered in looked a little banged up and there's some cosmetic damage to the PS4.

Hopefully I will love the system once I can use it to its full capabilities. It is much prettier and quieter than the PS3.

After not being able to download games to a 3DS Christmas 2013, I downloaded and installed LBP3 prior to Christmas 2014. This turned out to be a very good decision because of the DDOS PSN and Xbox Live suffered. Instead of a fancy box for the family to look at, we all managed to play some LBP together.

Pros:
- System works
- Included games that we like
- Is the most playstationey playstation to playstation?

Cons:
- PSN is not as awesomesauce as I would like, it took a long time to recover from a DDOS
- I'm still having difficulties logging in to PSN on the PS4, yes there are solutions out there, but the fact of the matter is that the PS4's experience is suboptimal for me currently

Ok learn from my mistake and do not by a game bundle with a game voucher....The reason is that on Christmas day 2014 the sony network went down so uploading little big planet (the reason we purchased the bundle) has rendered the playstation into a source of frustration. While there are bigger problems to have than this, I will still keep this problem in perspective to real problems one could have. I just wanted to point out that relying on technology (network dependance) is not always a good thing. Im sure this PS4 is a fine device so this one star is purely a reflection on the the reliance on a network that has failed this gifts intended purpose.

I wanted to buy a PS4 for my husband and child for months now, and I kept coming back to this particular bundle. This PS4 comes with Lego Batman 3 and a download voucher for Little Big Planet 3. Starting off with the family-friendly games, and all for a great price, is what sold me on this product. Setting up the PS4 didn't take very long, either. An hour before my husband came in from work I had already set it up for him, gone through any updates, and got LBP3 ready for download. The only thing he had to buy was a second controller so our child could play with him, as well as whatever adult games he wanted. We haven't had a single problem with our PS4 since we bought it, and it's used on a day to day basis for watching movies and playing video games.

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my kids with some time in advance. I opened it and it was configured under someone else's account (a gmail account) and this was suposed to be a brand new device which clearly it wasn't; to make it worse since I bought it in August I couldn't ask for a replacement.
It also didn't work, controllers kept disconnecting and it was impossible to play so it had to be repaired.
Nowhere I was informed that this was a 2nd hand unit which is very dissapointing.
