Based on the manga by Nozomu Tamaki, the broadcast series Dance in the Vampire Bund (2010) centers on a vampire realm that exists in parallel to everyday life. Akira, a normal-seeming high-school student suffering from amnesia, goes about ordinary activities with his classmate Yuki at an elite private academy in Tokyo. Their world changes when Mina Tepes, a descendant of Vlad the Impaler and the reigning princess of the vampire world, arrives at their school. In the first story, she connives to build a settlement dubbed the Vampire Bund on a Tokyo Bay landfill--and claims extraterritoriality for it, as if it were a 19th-century European colony. The subsequent plots--which start and stop arbitrarily--string together violent battles between various villains and Akira, who discovers he's both a werewolf and the sworn servant/protector of the Princess. There are lots of fan-service jiggle shots, but Princess Mina takes the form of a barely pubescent girl, which gives much of the nudity disquieting "lolicon" overtones. Other story elements include an attack on students seeking safety in a church, an assault on a buxom nun, a high-school student's apparently passionate attachment to an elementary-school boy, and "Agni Blood" ("Blood of the Lamb"), a chemical rebel vampires use to turn themselves into walking bombs. Despite all the violence and nudity, Vampire Bund is a crashing bore with long Morris the Explainer scenes. Otaku will recognize the many elements the series borrows from other anime. (Rated TV MA: extensive nudity; graphic violence; violence against women and children; sexual situations, including suggested lesbianism and pedophilia; grotesque imagery; potentially offensive religious imagery; tobacco use) --Charles Solomon

The graphics in this are quite well done as well as the voice acting. The characters are not easily forgotten and it is easy to fall in love with them. I had already watched this show before i decided to purchase it and i am very glad that i did purchase this show. I just watched the blu-rays for the first time last night and already i want to watch the show again.
I would highly recommend this show to other people though a certain level of maturity is required for parts of this show.
All in all this is a great series that will not easily leave your mind. A show of love, action, vampires, werewolves, and other monsters. The story is compelling and by the time you have watched the episodes you will feel as though you have watched a whole 26 episode series.
All in all, I really enjoyed it. I watched it in two days and actually wished it was longer as I did like the story line a lot. Like I said a few times already, this had a lot of potential. I hope they decide to make another part to this one day as the story is left open if they wanted to write more.
The DVD has a lower resolution than the blu-ray, which is to be expected. The sound quality is just as good and the picture is quality is very good too. You will find some spots where it is blurrier than the blu-ray, but its brief, usually. Overall, the quality suffers very little for a DVD and is a good alternative to the blu-ray if you can't afford the blu-ray or don't have a blu-ray player.
This anime itself I would rate 4 3/4 out of 5. 1/4 off only if you compare it to the manga only in length. With 12 episodes, it covers the first few volumes. However, there is more to discover with the manga. The anime is still worth watching as it gives some subtle differences while some major differences.
Be warned, there is a reason why there is a MA rating for the anime. All those with sensitive ideology should not watch it due to the various differences in culture and what is considered acceptable to the general public, namely the loli aspect and levels of fan service of this anime.
I highly recommend this show to people who enjoy the two categories I mentioned above, on a scale of 1-10 I would seriously give this an 8.5/10 because ( scroll down, * POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!! POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!! * )

8.5/10 because of the way the show ends, it leaves the viewer BEGGING for another season in my opinion because of how the scenario works out with the "true-blood legacy" and there still being another opponent that can wreak havoc on Princess Mina's story, other than that though the show ends nicely with the main love interest.

The anime is awesome. I had watched it before and while I found some of the Dracula references a bit cheesy but overall between the intense action and well developed characters I found it quite compelling. The power dynamics, the romance, backstory, and echii all blended quite nicely and the story arc wrapped things up at the end without any kind of cliffhanger feeling. All in all it's an excellent little anime for anyone that loves vampires, action, romance, lolicon and a bit of echii. But mostly I'd say it's an action, drama, romance anime.
