Do What is Necessary in the Face of Invasion

Engage enemy forces in New York, Paris, Berlin and other attack sites across the globe. The world stands on the brink, and Makarov is intent on bringing civilization to its knees. In this darkest hour, are you willing to do what is necessary.

Pointstreaks and Strike Packages
Killstreaks, benefits and abilities awarded for stringing together multiple kills, have been transformed into Pointstreaks, creating a system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives. These rewards have been broken up into three different categories, known as Strike Packages:
- Assault - Pointstreaks within this package chain together and deal direct damage. It includes classics like the Predator Missile and Attack Helicopter. Your streak resets on death.
- Support - Pointstreaks within this package do not chain, focusing instead on surveillance and disruption. Your streak does not reset on death meaning they will respawn with you.
- Specialist - Pointstreaks within this package are designed for advanced players. Rewards come in the form of additional perks for optimal performance. These perks last until death.
Weapon Proficiencies
Just like your player, weapons now rank up, unlocking additional attachments, reticules, camos and the new proficiency category. Weapon Proficiencies not only allow you to get better with weapons, they also allow you customize your weapons with helpful attributes such as "Kick" for reduced recoil, "Impact" for deeper penetration through hard surfaces and much more. Many proficiencies are specific to their weapons class. And all are geared towards enhancing a certain play style and can allow for efficient use of your favorite weapons in maps and game modes in which they might not otherwise be the best choice.
Modes and Match Customization
Along with the return of the fan favorites Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 introduces several new game modes. Collect dog tags from killed players, including those on your squad while you prevent the opposing squad from taking yours in Kill Confirmed mode. In Team Defender mode, grab the flag and protect the flag carrier for as long as you can to increase your team's score. In addition players will enjoy user generated match mode functionality which allows you to configure any mode how you want it and then share these over the Call of Duty: Elite online service.
2-player Co-op Special Ops Survival Mode
Special Ops cooperative action returns with a bevy of additions, including 16 new objective-based missions and the all-new Survival Mode. Team up online, locally, or play solo and face endless waves of attacking enemies throughout every multiplayer map. Purchase and customize your weapons, air support, equipment and abilities to stand up against increasingly difficult forces and land a spot on the leaderboards. Earn experience and rank up with the newly implemented progression system. The higher the rank, the more weapons, air support, and gear armories you will have available to customize so you can change your tactics on the fly. In addition to the action packed battle for freedom, the cooperative Survival Mode also serves as an effective training tool for competitive multiplayer action.
Call of Duty: Elite
Call of Duty: Elite is an online multiplayer oriented service launched simultaneously with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. The service offers both free and subscription based levels of access and is dedicated to the game franchise, featuring lifetime statistics across multiple games, social-networking options, competitions, a mobile app, Facebook integration and more.

Campaign: (No Spoilers)
In my opinion, the campaign of MW3 was very good, but not as good as MW2 and BO. It has a decent storyline and loads of action, but some of the missions just weren't as fun and seemed like doing the same thing in a different place. The campaign of MW3 isn't too difficult and is about on par with MW2. Veteran is still pretty difficult, but there are no points which are brutally hard. I liked that Infinity Ward brought back some of my favorite characters from past games, and introduced lots of new ones as well. Like past games, there are multiple intel items to find and achievements regarding doing special tasks which aren't too difficult.
Multiplayer:
The multiplayer of this game is very fun, in my opinion. I agree that some of the maps are not as good as the others, but I don't think that all of them are terrible. Sometimes multiplayer can be very frustrating because of extremely overpowered weapons or bad losses, but not most of the time. There is a huge amount of weapons, attachments, and equipment that you can unlock. Many favorites have returned from previous games, and some new ones have been added. There is a new "Weapon Rank" system. Whenever you get a kill with a weapon, you get experience points for your main ranking system and the new Weapon Rank system. There are 31 progressive weapon ranks, and almost each new rank unlocks a new attachment or camo design for that weapon. Perks are special abilities that nyou choose for your player, and 3 are selected. There are many perks, including some that help you reload faster, sprint faster, or detect enemy equipment. There is also a "Pro" variant of each perk, which extends the ability of that perk (i.e. Scavenger-Collect ammo from each killed enemy, Scavenger Pro-Spawn with extra ammo) and is unlocked after completing challenges for that perk. There are 3 killstreak categories, Assault, Support, and Specialist. In Assault, it's the classic Killstreak system, get multiple kills in one life, reset when you die. It is mainly focused on getting kills on the enemy team. In Support, your killstreak doesn't reset when you die. It is mainly focused on helping out your team get kills. In Specialist, your streak resets when you die. After a specific amount of consecutive kills, your player receives an additional perk. At 7 kills, your player receives all of the avaliable perks. Deathstreaks are also in multiplayer, where if you die multiple times in a row without getting any kills, you receive a deathstreak, such as dropping a live grenade when you die, detonating C4, or increased bullet damage for one kill. A new system in Multiplayer is "Weapon Proficiencies". After ranking up a weapon, a player also unlocks proficiencies for that weapon, which are sort of like perks for the weapon, such as increased range or bullet penetration. There are 80 levels in multiplayer, and they normally take a while to progress through. Once you reach level 80, you can "Prestige". When you Prestige, you go back to being level 1 and lose all of your unlocked items. You also get a new Emblem, Title, and a Prestige Token. There are currently 10 Prestige levels, but 10 more will soon be added. Prestige Tokens are used to purchase items in the Prestige Shop, where you can get things such as an extra Custom Class or Double XP for 2 hours.
Spec Ops/Survival:
Spec Ops has returned from MW2. Spec Ops is a mode where you do special mini-missions usually related to the Campaign. You can either do it alone, or with a friend. You can earn up to 3 stars for each mission, depending on what difficulty you completed the mission on or the time it took for the mission. There are 20 missions, and all of them are pretty fun. I highly recommend doing them with a friend, especially on the higher difficulties. You alo rank up in Special Ops, which is a separate rank then in Multiplayer. There are 50 levels, and ranking up unlocks either more Special Ops missions or items in Survival. Survival mode is an extremely fun mode of Special Ops, and probably my favorite thing in MW3. It is similar to Zombies from BO and WaW, Firefight from Halo, or Horde from Gears of War. The maps in Survival mode that you can play on are the same ones in Multiplayer. The objective of Survival is to, well, surive as long as you can while fighting off endless waves of enemies, which progressively get harder. You start off with nothing but a pistol. For every kill you get, you get points that can be used to buy items from the Weapon, Equipment, or Air Support armories. Not all items are avaliable right away, but ranking up in Spec Ops unlocks new items. In the Weapon Armory, you can purchase guns and attachments for them. In the Equipment Armory, you can buy things that help you defend against the enemies, such as Sentry Guns or Riot Shields. In the Air Support Armory, you can buy things like Predator Missiles, Airdrop Markers, Perk Care Packages, and even friendly troops to assist you! You also start off with a Self-Revive and Body Armor. Self-Revives allow you, if downed, to kill an enemy to get back up. Body Armor lets you take 250 points of damage before you die. You can buy both of these from the Equipment Armory. When playing with a friend, if a player gets downed, the other player has one minute to revive him, or the game ends. The 20 Survival Maps have different difficulties, which are not selected by the player, but already put in. The difficulties are Easy, Normal, Hard, and Insane. The difficulties change not how much health the player has, but how quickly harder troops like Juggernauts and Attack Helicopters appear.
Overview:
Modern Warfare 3 is a very good game, and has a good campaign, great multiplayer, and very entertaining Spec Ops modes. I would definitely recommend this game to newcomers of the Call of Dty series and veterns alike. It may not be as good as the other games in the genre and series, but is definitely worth buying, especially if a lot of your friends have it too.
So far I like what I see. I honestly didn't expect too much more then MW2 because common, how advanced can the graphics get and how "futuristic" can you get with a game thats entitled MODERN WARFARE. If you get any more into it you might as well be going sci-fi because the weapons of today haven't changed much since the last game.
The graphics are good, and maybe a tad bit better then MW2, but honestly how much further can we go without a brand new gaming platform? I don't think there's any more "HD" you can go without playing this on a PS3, and thats even pushing it. If you want something that is going to blow you completely away in regards to graphics then wait for the next "gaming consol of tomorrow" because honestly we are at the platforms graphic capacity (NOT the WiiU because that won't be graphic intensive).
The campaign is a continuation of the first two games, so if you haven't played them then you probably should. I got lucky and jumped into the 2nd modern warfare without playing the 1st, but was still a tad lost; but they really don't try to brief you on anything that happened before hand in this game. Its either you know or you don't. So far playing on regular it isn't that difficult, but I'm only doing it on regular so I can probably bet that when I up the difficulty, it will most certainly become harder. I do enjoy how your team mates kill the enemies and really do try to push the objective instead of "blindly firing" (and by this i mean attempting to fire at the enemy but always missing) as they have in past games.
The guns are pretty much the same with a few new guns and additions. There's a lot of complaints about this but honestly what do you expect? It's like I said before, if they tried to make up a gun it would cross the line of being a modern game about modern warfare into sci-fi and then you would blast it even further so I like where it's at now. The guns are more customizible and now you can even level up your weapons so it encourages you to favor one weapon over others. This can be good or bad but I prefer it because I like to master one gun and then move to the next.
Multiplayer always has its quirks, but thats common over almost every game out there (Halo, MW, MW1 etc). Right now people that have no life are the highest levels, but for the common joe like me with a job and a life only play when we want, and seemed to get paird up with equals, and even if you are jesus of the video game world, you'll start off as the lowest level until you rank up so just wait a week or so and people will be probably about at their rankings as they were in MW2. That Jesus of the video game who owned you last week will be a completely different level by then and you'll probably never face him again, its all part of playing a brand new game right at launch.
It's fairly easy to level up but i did find it a little difficult with the three profiles you are given at the start because they are so limited. It's really not a big deal though and you'll quickly be able to customize your own profile once you level up which they have made pretty easy.
For those that complain that there are little children playing cussing, singing and playing loud music...you'll never get away from it. There will always be an annoying little brat that thinks he's better then you, calling you a fa* and probably touching themselves. Its the nature of the game and really any game and shouldn't be factored into a review of the game itself. If you don't want to be bothered by that sort of thing then don't play multiplayer and just play with your friends on split screen.
I will update this as I find out and play more of the game, cause honestly there's not much I can put having only played about 4-5 hours worth after work. Depending what I find out I will certainly keep the score or downgrade, so keep a look out this is only a preliminary review.
*EDIT*
So I've played quite a bit of this game now and I do not wish to change any of my previous statements. This game is fun, the graphics are of good quality and basically everything else I mentioned. Have fun!

The standard multi-player was nothing special but it wasn't bad either. It felt a lot like MW2 which was not different in many ways. Although that did upset me, I found the survival modes and spec ops to make up for that. They consisted of fast-pace action and strategic gameplay in order to make it on to the next rounds.
The campaign was literally the bomb of this game. Full of action, drama, and cool moments, this campaign left a good name for the MW series. It was done so well and it gave me a fulfilling ending to a wonderful series. Not only did it start off amazingly from where World War III initiated but it cleared up everything and answered all our questions that MW1 and MW2 gave us.
I highly recommend this game to any FPS gamer. Definitely not as sublime as MW2 is but it was still a wonderful game.
