What a great game. I played the original on the Xbox 360 and enjoyed it then as well. But, with the improvements added to this Director's Cut as well as Wii U specific features..This is without a doubt the definitive version of this game. The reworked boss battles are the biggest standout for me personally. I love going the stealth route, and it was like the thought of stealth players were completely ignored during boss battles in the original. However with this version you can still keep more of your stealth gameplay in mind without having to resort to guns blazing when you get to a boss when the arsenal you've acquired doesn't fit with that style. Also, something specific to Wii U, is the great implantation of the gamepad. So many developers look at the gamepad, and just do the "slap on a map" approach, which is fine and is often useful but few go beyond that and truly make the gamepad a part of gameplay this much. Yes, there is a map on the screen but you also do the hacking mini-games with the gamepad, as well as being able to draw out your own waypoint routes and tossing back grenades.

The gameplay itself is great. Even though it's slightly dated now, the game is still very nice in the visual department. There's a nice bit of exploration and rewards for doing so. A great story with great characters and voice acting. It's great when a third party puts this much effort into bringing a great experience to Wii U customers when so many of them hardly try, or just plain not give it a shot at all.

If you're someone looking for something out of the norm from what you normally find from Nintendo titles, this is something to definitely broaden your gaming horizons and show you how putting effort into the Wii U system can produce great gaming experiences.

The game itself is wonderful, if a bit old. For the wii u edition in particular, the gamepad addition is very well done and does not feel tacked on. It's used for things like inventory management, upgrades, in-game books/letters/emails, hacking minigame, etc.

As for the game itself, it's very well done. The story sucks you in. It's an excellent conspiracy thriller with the constant eerie sense of something bigger going on and shadow villians who seem to have their hand subtly behind everything, leaving an delightfully chilling element of not knowing who to trust, while at the same time giving characters (such as Adam himself) who are very genuine, especially in contrast to the movers and shakers.

The game puts in minor but important details that are fun to find and add a lot to the world and characters. One example is an email interaction you can find where Jensen has requested that his landlord get him a new bathroom mirror. Nothing about this struck me as interesting about it until later when you find the landlord's response, questioning how the mirror would have gotten broken. If you look in Jensen's bathroom, it's clearly been punched in the center, giving a small insight into Adam's turmoil.

The gameplay is also fun. I haven't play the other versions but apparently this one "fixed" the boss battles so if you're like me and you upgrade stealth and hacking, you can now use those to turn turrets against the bosses, use environment traps, etc.

Overall an excellent game, great on the Wii U, and amazing for the price.

Really great game. One of the few grown up games available for the Wii U. Nice story and semi-open world levels along with challenging linear levels. Never experienced any performance problems referenced by other reviews. Highly recommended for those wanting to supplement chipper Mario with a dystopian future epic.

I knocked it down a star for the boss battles. Probably took me 100 respawns and 2 hours each to beat them. One of them I finally cheated and had to google how to beat it (and even knowing how it took 20+ tries!). I like a challenging game, but not to the point where you are just angry and frustrated.

Still, overall highly recommended

The original "Deus Ex" is a classic video game. Its sequel "Shadow War" is not so much. This installment, "Human Revolution", falls some where between the two. Its a prequel to the other two games, and no previous knowledge is needed to follow the plot. Its more FPS than RPG unlike past installments in the series.

In all honesty the moment to moment game play is fantastic. Assessing a room and figuring out how to move through it with the upgrades you have chosen is a rewarding experience. The controls feel nice and tight, and the A.I. is consistent, making any plan live and die solely on the skill and cunning of the player.

Unfortunately whats holding this game back is its difficulty curve and ending. The difficulty curve is all over the place. It almost feels at times like the levels are out of order. This is mostly due to the unbalanced upgrade system. Also this game has a worse ending than Mass Effect 3 in my opinion, by the way WARNING SPOILERS AHEAD. Mass Effect 3 at least informs you of the consequence of your choice. Human Revolution just lets you choose an ending, explains why the character choose the ending, and cuts to black. It left a bad taste in my mouth and ruined some of the more fantastic moments in the game.

All in all its a good game if you can get it cheap. A $20 price tag makes it worth your money and your time.
