Awesome! Great for beginning gamers and more!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So I've been debating for a long time now whether or not to actually get an Alienware computer. Reviews all across the internet will say "Build your own! It's cheaper." but they also don't take into account that not everyone is tech savvy enough to put together a working computer. I've been on the fence about Alienware for the last four or five years now. And I'm glad that I was able to finally get my hands on this one. While there are many pre-built computers that can handle intensive gaming. I would say that the Alienware Aurora is really great for out of the box gaming. I'm not the best when it comes to tech/computers, or PC gaming. But I'll list my personal Pros and Cons of the computer. PROS: - decent sized tower, not too big, not too small. fits nicely on top or under desk. - comes with OS pre-installed, so you can just plug and chug when it comes to setting up your computer (though there are BIOS updates, etc, so plan for a couple hours of rebooting computer while it updates and configures) - very beautiful design, runs smoothly. the colours of the alien-head (power button) and side panels are all customize-able. which is GREAT. - a nice array of USB ports for plugging in accessories. - has the CD/ROM slot so you can actually put discs in it, unlike a lot of cheaper gaming PCs I've seen. - also has WIFI router inside, so you do not need to have an cord to hook up to the internet, though both are options! - nifty handles for lugging the tower around from place to place. - JUST ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL CONS: - the mouse that comes with the computer feels like it will break if i press any of the buttons too hard. not really recommended if you plan on gaming with this computer. - takes a long time to update the pre-installed software - fans can be loud if you have a quiet house (which i do not) - price is on high end, try to wait for it to be on sale Additional Notes: - apparently the RAM is not the best, I don't really know for sure, but according to a plethora of online reviews, it is easily expendable. - this computer is built to be upgraded, so there's plenty of room for future use without having to buy a whole new system. - this computer came with a keyboard & mouse. the keyboard i haven't used, because i have a Razer Blackwidow Chroma keyboard & mouse. lol. - the fans have been said to be loud, but that's really a personal call. to me, they are not very loud. to others, they are very loud. it depends on what you consider loud. my best example would be saying it's the hum of an oscillating fan on the lowest setting. it's only really loud if you're close to the tower. Overall: - This computer is AMAZING. I am able to play Black Desert Online at high graphic settings, and there's no lag or glitches in the display. I have never been so obsessed with the appearance of a game before. But this computer delivers a stunning speed and quality that none of my previous computers could give. - It's a beautiful computer, simple to set up, truly worth every cent that I put into it. - So far I've played Black Desert Online and League of Legends without problems. - Photoshop runs smoothly on this PC, does not crash. - Works perfectly with Wacom Intuos tablet, no need to manually install drivers, etc. - Plays everything in great quality, handles long hours of use and play. - Definitely really great computer for someone like me. I think that it's truly amazing. - Alienware is a lot better than people online make it sound. Hardcore gamers that stick to building their own PCs will tell you "don't waste your money" but if you have the money and want this computer, it will be a good choice! I promise!

Good Computer at price with tradsoffs
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased mine for $800 on sale. Great computer for money with trade-offs. First power supply has cables to only supports one card at about 400W. Second the 970 graphics card is OK for entry VR. Also power supply face can be loud at times - se other reviews for this. And only 8GB of ram. What is good is Alienware support. Case is great compact size and. There are 2 more ram slots for expansion. You can upgrade the graphics card with one of the new NVDIA 1080 or 1070 if you want to. There are plenty of ports. Overall I am happy. If I had one which it would have been to include liquid cooling.

Great PC for Back to School/Gaming - R5 Base
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I received this PC as a gift on 8/17/2016 and it has been amazing so far. I wanted to get something to handle both gaming and my school work. My current MacBook Air was great for campus and was portable and light so it added to the convenience factor. However, I needed something with a little more power. It was either between this and the 27in 5k iMac, which is about $1800 with the Fusion drive and education pricing. I'm mostly pro-apple everything (own the 6S+, Watch, iPads, and MacBook), but I think what drew me to this rig is its gaming potential...and boy does it have potential and plenty of room for future improvement. I’m currently running games at 60FPS on ultra settings, such as Siege and high settings for Killing Floor 2 and Overwatch. I’m sure there is room to go higher, but I have an Asus 27in IPS display at 60hz. Only negative I would say is the available RAM and the PSU. I am planning to upgrade the RAM to 16GB and will look into PSU options if I ever upgrade to a GTX 1080. Overall, I would recommend this PC but maybe wait for a sale later this year because it is a little steep. I only paid $200 out of pocket for the Geeksquad plan and the rest was a gift for school.

Great gaming PC
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. When I first started this PC I like how it has steam preinstalled so i wouldn't have to download it. It also runs video games really good, you won't be disappointed. Also I like that it's upgrade able so when my parts go bad I can just get new parts instead of getting a new PC. Overall, It's a great gaming PC, it is super fast, has steam preinstalled, and is upgradeable and has many more great things. I would say more but I'm running out of space... It's awesome!

CD Rom drive broken on new unit.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I jumped on this $799.99 deal. A 6th. gen. i7 and a GTX-970 PC for 799.99 is an amazing and unbelievable price. I knew that for the price there was a huge chance that the unit had problems. This deal is too good to be true. I read that other people had units DOA, but took a chance. I picked mine up from Best Buy, took it home, and set it up. I noticed the CD Rom drive bent sideways on the front of the unit and when I would press the eject button it wouldn't pop out. I had to call Dell's tech support and have to get them to come out and replace it. Dell's tech support really is as terrible as everyone says it is. At first they didn't want to even replace the CD Rom drive. This is a brand new unit! And for 799.99 I was willing to get a repair since this model is now sold out. Just wish Dell had better quality control in their manufacturing plants. This is the 2nd. Alienware product I bought and had a problem with. If your willing to take a chance on this unit and will put up with Dell's terrible tech support. Go for it. $799.99 is unbelievable.

Love my new computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is awesome. Runs fast, plays my games wonderfully. The only con to this computer is the loudness of the fan which kicks in intermittently when I am gaming. Otherwise I am very very happy!

Good Stable System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup was easy. System is very stable. I still need to download manual, so I can determine if I want to upgrade any features. 8 gigs of memory was plenty with earlier PCs, but it looks like 16 gigs might be a good minimum for Win10 PC. I might also like a bigger power supply. Otherwise, i7 processor, graphics card, motherboard, fans seem good.

Great Power
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this computer mainly for development and some light gaming and it has been running great. I run a mac virtual machine to develop iOS software and it gives me no problems and doesn't get that loud. It ran Halo Wars and Elder scrolls online on max settings with no problems and I am thoroughly pleased with the system. I will probably get a second stick of ram so it supports dual channel and a solid state drive to make it even faster. Even though it already boots up in under 10 seconds.
