Rumors that the PlayStation 3 exclusive Mercenaries 2: World in Flames would be coming to the Xbox 360 having proven to be overwhelmingly true, as EA and Pandemic announce that development is not only extending to Microsoft's console, but to the PC and PlayStation 2 as well.
"Mercenaries 2: World in Flames delivers the next evolution in explosive open world gameplay - regardless of the system you play it on," said Pandemic Studios CEO Andrew Goldman. "All four platforms are incredible gaming machines, and from the beginning we designed an experience that accentuates their individual strengths and delivers the interactive freedom and explosive action Mercenaries fans demand."
I love it that the PlayStation 2 is still considered an incredible gaming machine along with the home computer and the two powerhouse machines of next-gen console gaming. No matter what happens with the constantly exclusive-losing PS3, the PS2 shall live on! Look for all four versions of Mercenaries 2 to hit in time for the 2007 holiday season. Anyone with half a brain could see this was NEVER going to remain PS3 exclusive.. I called this as soon as I heard EA was publishing it.

Change the thread title though, it makes it sound like PS3 lost MGS 4.

Holiday 2007 releases on the PS2 though? That seems a bit far off... wouldn't be surprised if the PS2 one got cancelled in a few months.

And actually, technically, this can go in general gaming since it affects many systems.

honestly I didn't know it was exclusive at one point. I figured since the Xbox also had the Mercenaries, that it would also come out for 360. Anyway, don't get too worked up unless FFXIII jumps ship to 360 and Wii.

Wow, I expected it to go on the 360, but not the PS2.

That's just awesome :D

The PS2 is probably going to win the next-gen war

I wish they made the first one for PC as well. I have the Xbox one, but it's too hard for me to get use to the controls on a Xbox controller.

Good to know they're making it cross-platform.
