I just got back from a midnight DLP showing. I loved it and thought the ending was very well done. Shrek 3 and Spiderman 3 where meh and it was good to see one summer movie so far shine. There was a decent amount of action and i think some scenes might have even pushed the pg13. Great Movie in my opinion. So anyone else see it?

Caught the 8:50 DLP showing, thanks to actually paying attention to commercials that said showings started at 8pm.

So. A Disney-tagged movie with a higher body count than all of Michael Bay's movies combined five times over? Wow. What the F.

I really enjoyed the first two movies but I was very dissappointed in the third movie. I actually fell asleep during the end sequence. Oh and was it just me or was this the most violent pg-13 movie ever?

I just got back maybe an hour ago from watching it. I think it closed the series nicely. For a Disney and a PG-13 movie, it delivered more than I ever expected and made me wish and wonder what it would have been without the restriction. With it though, does give the movie(s) some of its charm and humor.

Also for fans of the series...
THERES A SMALL EXTRA SCENE AT THE END OF THE CREDITS
Its a nice little touch and I say since you paid the money already might as well sit for an extra five minutes after sitting for 3 hours. I overheard some people talking about it when they left the theater. Its not a huge deal but was cool.

aah I missed the scene after the credits.. can you put it in a spoiler tag and tell the people that didn't know about it.. what it was ?

Oh and yeah.. there was times.. i was like.. this is a disney movie ?

The movie had a bunch of plot twists, and i'd say an unexpected ending.

I fell asleep during the 2nd one--is this better?

well elizabeth is seen at the end with a baby and it has been ten years and turner comes back and sees his kid. Thats what happens when you have sex on a beach :p I laughed so hard at the end because someone yelled "Its Jacks baby"

The movie was violent i got the same feeling and since you feel asleep towards the end you missed more violence lol. I wouldn't be surprised if it was originally R and then they did some edits to bring it to pg13 or paid someone off.

Saw it last night.

Waaaaaaaay better than the shitfest that was Dead Man's Chest. This is probably the best out of the 3 IMO.

Well without the restricition the movie would have very easily hit the R and it would hurt the box office because a lot of teenagers are seeing this movie and wouldn't be able to see it as easily.
I liked the part they shoved the monkey in a canon and he was on fire flying through the air.
So the disney charm wasn't over done but some scenes were funny.

I thought the movie was good overall but I wish there was more Jack Sparrow in it. I found it hilarious when
one of the pirate lords, a persian looking one, talked in an extremely high pitched voice declaring war.

I felt that the movie pretty much catered to Jack and his antics.
I mean, when there are 3 or 4 Johnny Depp's onscreen, you pretty much know what the objective of the movie is

I felt the movie was distributed quite evenly between
Sparrow and Elizabeth seemed like there was less turner more than anyone else.

My first impression was christ this is pg-13? I'm impressed at the money Disney must have thrown around to get that rating for it. Loved the movie, I wasn't expecting nearly so much backstabbing but it was a nice touch. Count me in as well for not seeing the ending coming at all.

Saw it today and thought it was pretty good.
I didn't see part 2 but heard that it was boring. I had no idea what was happening in the first part of the movie.

While I liked the first 2, I didnt care for this one as much.

It didnt seem as "fun" as the other 2. Some fight scenes were just too drawn out and boring.

I saw it yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it, especially compared to Pirates 2, which I thought was the worst of the Pirates movies. I would say Pirates 3 is the best of the whole trilogy.

I didn't see the scene after the credits but
was it still a baby after 10 years? Shouldn't the kid be like 9 years old or something?

I was disappointed. Lots of characters that didn't do anything, and the ending sucked.
It was "lol, fuck you turner". That's it.

Better than number 2, but worse than 1.

I'll see it eventually, I loved the first one but was really disappointed by the second one. Hopefully this won't suck ass.

For the big menace that Davy Jones was made out to be in Dead Man's Chest, he didn't seem very threatening this time around. And the way he died was too short and painless.
Could someone explain to me at the ending. You know the chart thing. ^__^;
I believe it was the map to the fountain of youth

Movie Blew, it took what was fun about the first movie and threw it away, i hate when movies think they need 80000 heroes and villians to make it good, the plot was so stupid, and half the shit was way more over the top then it needed to be, it almost seemed like they ran out of ideas and just started making shit up.

Thank. I bet there will be part 4

You know there will be, I hope they completely reboot the franchise. Keep Sparrow (you know that he's 90% of the reason the sequels exist) and Barbossa, and never talk to any of the other old characters again.

I thought the movie was okay. I liked #1 and #2 better. Seemed to drag on in the middle.

I loved
the whole white desert crab rocks with the schizo jack

Easily the best film in the series. I thought the first one was the most boring of the series but these past two films took the franchise to a level of nearly One Piece imagination which I wholly loved. Everything in my opinion worked, from the rescue of Captain Jack, to William Turner's character, who had never worked before for me.

I can't wait for a part 4. :)

I thought the movie was a step down from the 2nd one, which was a step down from the 1st. I watched all 3 this weekend and by far the 3rd one drug out and got boring at times. It was an okay movie and i loved the computer work, but give me a break. I dont need to see a 20 min fight, ending was shabby. Just end the dang movie, reminded me the way that LOTR ended, i was crying wanting to leave.

Still thinking about what I really thought about it, but I can say one thing - it tried to bring in too many elements.

The first one is my favorite because it was fresh and new and had a very concise storyline, where as this one (along with the second) are meant to be seen together, which sort of makes them a completely seperated arc. This is fine and all, but they could have dropped 1-2 of the plot devices, minimized the main characters list, and come out with something less...multi-faceted.

For example, Chow Yun-Fat seemed pretty much useless, satellitory. And the whole Calypso thing wasn't...well, it wasn't fleshed out well enough to stand, and instead seemed pretty tacked on.

I agree with whoever said above that (should it be made) the fourth one could be a return/rebooting of the series into something with just Jack and Barbossa. I mean the ending of this one sets up a perfect chance to do that. I never cared much for Orlando Bloom's character (especially after the first movie), and it could also forgo all of the political nonsense that I think is extraneous and hampers the story as a whole (I mean who really gave a shit what some viceroys, governors, and the British East India Trading Company thought about pirates, especially when their entire appearance is so secondary to the real meat of what's happening?).

Still, I liked it. I love the series as a whole - perhaps for the Monkey Island parallels - and would welcome a fourth one if it did some of the things I think would help it redirect into something more wholesome.

Movie was enjoyable. Not bad, but not great. It kinda got confusing with all the characters making deals with the good guys and the bad guys.

FYI: Stay after the credits, there's a little clip at the end. I missed it but I was told about it.
