I have a big pile of textbooks from the past year and I am wondering where to sell them. There seems to be plenty of sites but i'm not sure which to choose. Any help? Thanks in advance, Jason.

I sold mine at Amazon.com. It's free to throw up your listing, they just ask for a commission off your sale. I find it the quickest and easiest way to sell textbooks.

Get to know younger students in your major. I sold most of my books to people who were taking the class the following semester, for a little under what they were going for on the textbook sites. Campus bookstores will put you over a chair, Kobe Bryant-style, so they were happy to take them off my hands.
You could try posting on a campus bulletin board or something similar, as well.

Otherwise, I sold a couple on half.com, and that seemed to be fine. I got a decent amount for what I had. I just hated packing everything and hauling it to the post office--you're likely to make a few more dollars this route if you don't mind the work.

Sell them to students going to the next year. The people in my college does it all the time. I would scan the books first then share them on the web.

Its even worse when you are a business major... texts are like 200 new and you cant sell them back at the end of the year due to a "new" edition even though they are a semester old. And for a flippin softcover book to boot.

If you're a business major, you have bigger things to worry about. Like Maddox.

(No offense meant, by the way, I just think that hate-mail article is one of the funniest things I've read. I majored in accountancy, so I know all about the ass-rapings of business books.)

Thanks guys, I live close to a rural post office that never has any lines so I don't mind selling them online. I think I will try half.com.
