I just got an email from www.fye.com that includes coupon code OCTOBERBOGO for Buy 1, Get 1 50% off for all CDs, DVDs, and Used items (I assume used games are included as well).

Looks like this is good until the end of October, though I don't see a specific date.

Edit: Some users are reporting glitch with code that gives 50% off of ONE item, without having to buy a second.

Some of the prices on the games are very high, God of War 1 is $20.49 used, Far Cry on Wii is $22 used (and $20 new). Looks like there are some good deals though

It seems that the coupon can be used on just one item... I added Guitar Hero II Bundle (used) to my cart and applied it, on the order review it came out to $42.38 shipped. Not sure if orders made with that will go through, but it's worth a shot?

The site appears to be all glitchy. I tried adding 1 game, the discoutn showed and it was $19.99 after the discount. It said to add another $5.01 to get free shipping so I added some fillers and shipping went to $12.xx.

I have never ordered a used game from FYE before. What sort of condition are they usually in? Do they often come with a manual and intact case?

FYE is horrible, their shipping rates are horrible and any deal links I've ever found are DOA for their site. Although, I had the link(s) I used saying 'free shipping at such n such a level', but I think it only may apply to dvds/cds.

I desperately wanted 'Adventures Of Darwin', which is $19.49 at fye's site, but without free shipping, it goes up to almost $24-25 shipped. Horrible. But, FYE.com still has PS1 games in stock, most of which are sports, with a few exceptions.

I mixed one used PS1 title and one new PS2 game, but it was still no go.

Oh and if you're looking for a decent site, there's also Wherehouse.com, which is another side site of FYE. They list the number of copies of each used game left, so you don't get 'out of stock'. There's many cheap PS1/PS2/XBox games there too, mainly sports, but some other titles that're decent.

Maybe I'll check into this still though....never know....

EDIT: Ok, that was worth a shot, but apparently 'free budget shipping' means they change the standard shipping charges name to 'budget shipping', but it stays the sames. And, I don't think codes stack, though that 'budget shipping shit is a scam, since it did the same even when I didn't have any other codes to use.

Wherehouse.com isn't always accurate either. I ordered Carnival Games and it showed 4 copies in stock. It went backordered (with 2 copies still showing as being available) and they cancelled it. I ended up ordering it from Amazon instead.

All of fye/Second Spin/Wherehouse's (same company) used products come complete, shrinkwrapped, and in excellent shape. I fully recommend them, especially when you're lucky to even get the right disc form Gamestop, let alone a manual or case.

The code for the BOGO(which is only buy one, get the second HALF OFF, not free) worked for me, but I tried adding fillers to bump the total to get the 'free budget shipping'. And, as usual, it let me go in and see that the 'standard' shipping name had changed to 'budget' shipping, but nothing was free.

The code also works if you only have one item in your cart... i.e. Guitar Hero II Bundle for $42 shipped or Super Paper Mario for $25 shipped... it just takes off 50% from the only item in the cart, if it's used that is. Whether orders of this sort will go through, time will tell.

Well, I wish Adventures of Darwin would get USED copies already then, so I could get 50% off that, instead of paying $19.49 for a new copy, which is quite unCAGlike behavior. Knowing me, I'll play it twice, like I did Katamari Damacy, then sell it to a friend cheap in a year or two.

Better off buying everything seperate while abusing the code. While there's no games I want, I think I'll just buy two Dragon Ball DVDs with this. Thanks. :)

Edit: Urg. PayPal wouldn't let me buy them seperately with the damn code.

Thanks, picked up the Spartacus 2-disc Criterion for $15. Free shipping is available if you change the shipping option from standard to budget.

But, that's what I'm saying though, it already had 'budget' shipping selected and it came up the SAME price as 'standard' shipping. So, for me, there WAS NO FREE SHIPPING. But, as I also said, maybe you can't stack the buy one get one 50% off code with the free shipping?

Their prices on used blu-ray & hd dvd are a joke.

God I wish they had Lair in stock I'd order that for $30 shipped. Sigma is in stock and can be ordered for $30 shipped. Resistance would be like $27 shipped.

I finally found something I want in stock and WHAT THE FUDGE IS THIS FYE YOU BASTARDS?!?!?!

I was able to get both free shipping and have the 50% off code come into effect on my order. Budget was not selected when I went to the final screen, I had to change it myself.
awful lot of crap on their site. Is there a B&M coupon out there?
They have had coupons in the past for the B&M stores. I have some credit built up with them and would rather buy in-store and save myself the hassle and wait of ordering online.

Weird, right now the FYE site search is all messed up. It returns zero results no matter what you type. Is this happening to anyone else?

Yeah, but it's fixed now.

Looks like the code is dead.

I just got it to work. I had to hit the "Add" button a couple times though before it applied the coupon.

Yeah, it's working again.

The search is messed up again though.

Their shipping has always been weird. I ordered something a while ago where I got the free shipping, but the confirmation email and order history showed that I got charged for shipping. But in the end, the original order page was right, and I didn't get charged.

That was around a year ago, probably longer, and they still have issues with it!!!

I just ordered knocked Up, Special edition and the coupon worked, seems to be a glitch right now, its just 50% off, instead of b1g1 for 1/2 off. I got it off of slickdeals, front page right now, so it may die soon.

It works on new CDs and DVDs.

I just ordered Planet Earth new on HD-DVD for $53.70, shipped - not bad!

Also, Batman Begins used on HD-DVD for $11.27, shipped...

BTW - You can use your FYE gift cards for payment. After you enter your credit card and you get to the review screen (where you can change shipping), there is a tiny little button for Gift Cards. Use that to enter your gift card details, and voila.

Nice.

Try finding a used game to buy on that site, I think they have about 50 used games to pick from, buying the BackStage pass was the biggest waste of money.

It might be dead by now, not sure if it deserves its own thread, but just want to make sure that people know that the code has been working for new items, and you dont need to buy two to get the discount. Hopefully my order will ship/

Not so much - from the FYE.COM help area...

Can I use the f.y.e. Backstage Pass Member Card in all f.y.e. for your entertainment stores?

The card may be used to get discounts at all f.y.e. for your entertainment stores as well as at f.y.e. Movie and f.y.e. Games stores. f.y.e. Backstage Pass Member discounts are not applicable at fye.com.

so this works on the "Best of Blu-Ray" (and i assume the "Best of HD-DVD" too). makes $84.99 have a Discount: -$42.50. Not bad, ~$10 a movie.

Wow, without having to actually buy two games, some of the Wii games are a steal. I am hopefully down for WarioWare Smooth Moves, and if I had more money at the moment, I would spring for LoZ: Twilight Prince, Excite Truck, and DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 2, but hopefully I will have all month to do so.

I have no idea why, but I seem to have randomly gotten free shipping on my third order:
Product Line 1 : A Broken Frame [Rhino US CD/DVD]
Item Price: $25.99
Shipping Method: Budget shipping

Subtotal: $26.00
Tax: $1.12
Shipping: $0.00
Discount: -$13.00
------------
Total $14.12
Oh well, no complaints here!

No dice. I just tried for a new game and then again for a pre-order, both solo and paired with a used item.

It did however still work on a single used item, no 2nd one needed.
