Company of Heroes

CaptainPlanet!

CAGiversary!
Recently bought the DVD Game of the Year Edition, and it required me to patch the game to play, even in single player. At first I thought no big deal, so I downloaded the patch, maybe 20mb. I played through a couple missions, then called it a night. Came back the next day, found another patch that needed downloading, so I tried downloading it. Keeps locking up at 45.67 mb. There's no way around the patch, you cannot play any portion of the game without it. You can't even get to the main menu. So I tried to manually install the patches. Downloaded them, tried to install, and then got an error message saying the game files could not be found. I've tried turning off my network, and running with/without disk in drive, still requires the patched version to play, even with no internet connection. I've read there were patches for the steam Company of Heroes, but I cannot download these as I did not download the game from steam. Relic's support is non-existent, and I cannot find any versions of the patches that recognize I have the game installed.

Help would be most appreciated.

Maybe try reinstalling the game (I'm guessing you can keep your user settings and saved games) and try applying the patch again. Otherwise I'm not sure what else you could try, I haven't had any problems with patches for CoH so far (although I haven't played it in a while).

I just installed the original version of COH today and when I clicked on "Find Updates" from the autostart menu, it took my to a site with links to patch downloads. I downloaded 1.0 to 1.4 and then 1.4 to .171 (didn't see any 1.0 to 1.71)

I agree with DrFoo. Reinstall and update. Just back up your saves first.

Not to dig an old topic out of its grave or anything, but anybody still playing?

I picked it up again after a while, and man this game rocks. But in skirmishes, man the computer kicks my ass.

I think this would warrant a new topic.

It's currently uninstalled from my system to keep me from playing it during finals. I still play quite a bit and will do so after finals.

Add "Vertrucio" to you friends list then send me a whisper if you see me online (whispers work even if the person is in a game). I can jump in a game with you and help train you against the AI.
