Paypal problem. It won't let me pay :(

I am trying to buy something off a fellow CAG and for whatever reason it wont let me pay. I am trying to do a instant bank transfer backed by credit card. I neter the users e-mail and set my payment stuff (value currency etc). When I get to click here to pay screen it says instant transfer is disabled and I can only pay via echeck or credit card. It says something about not being able to use it for fraud prevention reasons. Any idea why it would say this? I havent had this problem before nor have I had it on any other payment I've made tonight
 
theres international settings if i remember. Something about not accepting foreign currency? Havent checkd in a while - obviously mine is set up to work with you ;p
 
It's just that PayPal isn't going to let you do an instant transfer here for whatever reason. I don't think you can do anything to 'change it's mind'. If you can pay with the credit card it should be instant or wait the couple days for the eCheck.

I'm not aware of a setting to not allow instant bank transfers incoming to your account. I don't think PayPal lets you prevent them, but I'd be curious to know for sure.
 
I decided to be crafty and see if was just this user but it was not. I tried sending money to other users I know it has worked for in past who's e-mails are stored in the little dropdown list. I actually Pookymeister and another and got the same on both. It's not letting me do instant transfers even to people it's worked for in past.
 
Maybe it is part of some anti-canadian movement. Still you could do that E-Check thingy and make the person wait a couple of days until it clears.
 
problem is Canada echecks take 7-10 days to clear instead of like 2-3 domestic USA to USA ones take and the CAG in question is moving soon.

Well maybe vlv723 will trust you that the echeck will clear and send before he leaves? :)
 
I guess I'll have to ask him. I am wondering if this issue could be tied to me putting through one too many instant transfer yesterday and perhaps paypal wants ensure I am good for the money.
 
That could definitely be the problem. Perhaps you were redflagged and now they are being extra cautious.

Why can't you just pay with CC and pay off the CC from your bank?
 
It's not an actual credit card, it's a pre-paid one that right now has about $15 on it lol. I won't be able to get a real one until March (when I turn 18), Hopefully a few instant transfers will clear my bank today and they will let me do some more
 
Has anyone ever had this happen to them? I can't send any ammount of money to anyone unless I pay with CC or echeck. I can't find anything in paypals help about it. I just did paypal's address verification thing where they phone you, that didnt fix things either. Am I stuck calling paypal? Or does anyone else have some clever ideas.
