Need help fixing xbox live

So I am a super cheapo and I don't want to buy a 100$ thing for my xbox 360 so I can connect to the wireless that my roommate buys for us. So I am trying to use my computer and connect that way. Anyways I need some help the MTU keeps failing and it doesn't make any sense since I have 1500 and I tried disableig the Upnp but it doesn't work. Anyone got any ideas?

I have no idea what you just said, but seriously, just make or buy an ethernet cable and plug it into the router. I made my own.

The problem is that the router is 2 floors above me right now. So I am trying to use my computers wireless card.

You can try Logitech's Play Link. It's two boxes--one goes into your router and one into your 360 (via ethernet). You don't install anything and they work pretty well. It's what I use (since my router is 2 floors below as well) and the connection for XBL is fine. Once in awhile you have to reset them by unplugging and replugging them I've noticed, but it's not often and it doesn't affect anything. Logitech doesn't make them anymore, so you could try ebay or something.

I was going to post the same thing. I have a set from a CAG/Fry's deal from way back, paid $15 shipped. They work fine.

awsome. Seems like a way better deal then paying 100$ or fiddling around with connecting through my laptop which doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere.

MS preys on uninformed customers, that is why you'll often see them referred to as M$. I'm still using my old wireless adapter I used for my original xbox. I picked it up at Target about 3-4 years ago for $25. I have a feeling these go for cheap on ebay since most people may not realize they work on the 360.

you don't need anything, just enable internet connection sharing on your PC. Then connect your Xbox to your PC via the ethernet cable.

There might be more to it setting it up, I don't recall exactly, but you don't need any third party crap.

Here's an official article on it:
