Was hoping this would be 400 points, though I guess we really don't get many of those anymore. Still not buying anything 800 points or more until DRM issues get fixed, so guess I will be passing, though I'll definitely download the demo.

Until I can play with a plain, attractive, top-down 2 dimensional board (something that looks exactly like this

), these ugly looking "3D" crapfests aren't worth a dime.

It's CHESS for God's sakes, why the hell does it have to be 3D and glowing?

Sadly, I remember this exact picture and discussion from the Spyglass games release. How do you feel about this screenshot?
 
Haha, why would you want to play Chess on XBLA with all the pre-teens on XBL who wouldn't know how to play in the first place?

If you want to play against your friends, there are many cheaper options than this.
