why do people put stuff on their trade lists that they dont want to trade?

I suppose it could possibly be a bait and switch situation. I know of an instance on another forum where some jackass had multiple people pay for something rare and then attempt to coerce them into a "silent auction." Lucky, the moderators resolved that situation.

i agree with you that shit is annoying yeah its their stuff so they can choose to sell it or not but the whole point of a trade list is the item is up for trade. if you dont want to sell or trade it dont list it. or if you have an idea of how much you want for something then put the price up there.

Sometimes people have multiple TLs too; I maintain 3 on separate sites and my TL here links to my GameTZ list. Other CAGs with GameTZ lists try to maintain both which isn't easy.

That and I have a TL thread, and posts in the 360 and Canadian TL threads. I sometimes forget to remove items from all of these, and I do end up PMing "Sorry, I forgot to remove that" a lot.

they are not rare out of print games, they are used current gen games whos prices are clearly defined by ebay/gamestop/eb
 
It confuses me as well since it's against the trading forum rules to do that. I guess they lack reading comprehension skills.

I wish it were an infractionable offense since so many people do it and its annoying to have to sort through a list full of this and that, completed trades, and "not for sale, only for reference" lists.
Apparently it also shows up in the search engine even if they are in a spoiler tag.
 
So... I pm'ed this guy about the Heavenly Sword that he had on his list.

"i'm not ready to get rid of that one yet"

Yeah you're going to run into people like that, not really much you can do but move on. Sooner or later you run into someone who has something they want to get rid of Honestly i'm more bothered by people that are strictly trade only, feel like saying gee alright i'll trade you this money for your item, does that sound good?
 
They list good stuff to get your attn.

When you ask about it, you gotta take it in the ass to get certain things.

Ive hit quite a dryspell on trades because people want something decent and then wanna give up jack shit to get it. If they dont get over on you somehow, they arent interested.

Thats why it gets to the point where I dont check lists anymore because Im tired of picking shit out and people reazlie I want something fair in return so they dont bother getting back to me..or picking shit out that people wanna come up with some lame fucked up excuse on why its not for trade yet its on their fucking tradelist.
