I'm buying a used game on Amazon.

What's the worst that can happen...

Amazon.com is a very safe place to buy things from, especially since if you get scammed, you can file theft with your credit card company and get your money back.

You don't really have anything to lose (except maybe some time, that is if you get scammed)

I hope so. This is my first time buying something used from a person. I don't want a bad experience on my first time.

lol.. seriously... as someone who sells (and through an asshole buyer does have one negative mark out of well over 100 positives) and buys from the amazon marketplace... Amazon takes lots of steps to protect its buyers from being ripped off... it is safer in my opinion than ebay

That is a normal price for a used 60$ game...If you pay more than 50$ for a used game Its not worth it.

Gamestops 54.99 used don't fly in my book. Especially when it is over 60$ including tax. I doubt he will rip you off ON PURPOSE. If anything happens just call your credit company and do a charge back.
Well its my first time so its kind of nerve wrecking.
If the act of buying alone is too nerve-wracking then, in all seriousness, you should not be buying anything online until you do all of your research. If you don't know the answers to these questions before you click the trigger on anything you ~should~ be worried.

1) If I end up being scammed what must I do to get my money back and from whom?

2) Will the website itself cover me in case of fraud or am I on my own?

3) Does my method of payment provide me any protection from potential fraud?

4) How has my seller done on previous deals? Has he ever sold before? How many times? What about the feedback other buyers left after a sale?

Remember, the more you know about what you're buying and how you're protected (if at all) should bring you peace of mind. If you don't have that then put your cards/money orders/checks away.
Actually, if you have an edge card you can use this week's coupon to get the game used for just under $36.
I forgot to mention the horrible quality of most gamestop trade ins. scratched disks,no manuals or case a lot of the times...etc. At least in my experience.

I always inspect before purchasing used from GS

My aunt is so obnoxious. She thinks everyone can hack and scam her. Like, her son had to quit MapleStory because she said hackers could get her through the game. Then he is trying to purchase something through PayPal, which I had done in the past from the same site and they were legit, and said she didn't trust them and made him use my account in case it was a scam. >_>

In all honesty amazon marketplace is rather safe. Compared to ebay or other major online places its probably one of the safest. Amazon has a system for you to use if the goods aretn delivered or are not what was advertised. I had that happen to me once and it was quickly resolved. the biggest online issues iv ever had are with ebay. Their safety system, if you could call it that, is horrible and basicly built to only help those who wont stop complaining, and its often useless unless the product is very expensive. Some people might make fun of you for being apprehensive, but its better to be apprehensive when its your money. People can be snide and glibe if they want, its easy to do when its not thier money. And at the end of the day if your not comfertable doing it, dont. Its that simple.

Good luck
