Amazon and Circuit City markdown Xbox 360 Wireless Network Adapter $78 & $80

Good info.. thanks a lot .... they also have it used for about $56.00 shipped , wich is not bad at all.... but I got 2 problems !- I am a cheap ass gamer ( it's got to be lower , LOL) and 2- i don't have a wireless router in the house , wich one can i use? (cheap price) and....how far away can the 360 be from the router?

Thankz
I can use the original Xbox adapter with the 360 right?
Yes, and it works better. You can use ANY ethernet bridge as well.
Yeah, 100$ is an ABSURD price. The range is not even that good on the adapter. :(
What kind of range were you looking for? The ones I had were like 40 feet away from the router on different levels of my house and they worked just fine for online play. The only thing I had against them was the insane price for them.

$80 is better, but still and absurd price for a wireless adapter. Many routers can be turned into a wireless bridge, that allows you to connect four devices wirelessly to your main wireless router for closer to $25-$30.

Yes, but it only supports WEP security (unless you do some serious hacking), which is basically no security. The 360 adapter supports WPA.

The 360 adapter also support 802.11a, which has no interference and is what I currently use with it and have 0 issues, works great for CoD4, Halo 3 and GoW.

Still no WPA2 support on the 360 adapter?? Can a firmware upgrade fix that?

My Wii gets full bars and it sits RIGHT next to my 360.

I exchanged the 360 wireless adapter 4 times and I finally gave up and just decided to stick with my 60 foot cord.
