PS3 (40GB)-- any deals or should I just buy used?

I am selling my PS2 in order to gain $$ for a PS3, and I obviously want to find a good PS3 deal.

I'm leaning towards buying a used one, since it's cheaper (40GB) but worried a little on warranty and would like to buy an extended one.

I have been looking on Craigslist for PS3's and they pop up one every week I'd guess, but I hate relying on that.

So any good deals?
 
I second this request, I think it's time for me to grab one with GTA4, MGS4, and all the real next gen games I've been missing with just my Wii.

Are there any good Blu-Ray deals with it?
 
Im looking to sell mine. It is a 40 gig with the Spider-Man 3 Blu-Ray. I have only had it about a month. Let me know if interested. I have the Hi-Def component cables also.
 
At Kmart if you buy a PS3 and GTAIV then you get a $50 gift card.

If you want an 80gb model then the Metal Gear Solid 4 bundle is the best option. Even if you don't like Metal Gear Solid you could still sell the game for at least $40.

when is this bundle coming out? same time as the game launch or after?
 
Just talked to a regular that comes into the store during the midnight release for GTA4. He played the new Socom for PS3. He said that the game is aweful! It is gonna be only downloadable from the playstation store and that it is online only! That sucks dude...

He is missinformed. Yes it is online only, but there will be discs sold.

From the perspective of a pc gamer the original socom was pretty awful imho. The question is did this person like the original or hate the new one because he hated the original.

I loved # 1 & 2. Disliked all the others. What i really want is Delta Force, but Socom is the closest i've seen on consoles so far.
 
The best possible deal you can get is the Sony credit card offer, if it is still good. You get a $100 credit for first qualifying purchase of $299 or more. You also get no interest for 12-months, I think.
